Nestled in the heart of the city, The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center wins over visitors with its prime location, making sightseeing and dining out highly convenient.
While the hotel's service garners compliments for the staff's attentive and warm nature, some guests feel that the rooms could benefit from better maintenance and soundproofing. Despite mixed reviews on value due to the pricey extras, the hotel's effort to keep the hustle of the city at bay is acknowledged, though the AC noise remains a niggle for some.

A nice, dog-friendly and centrally located hotel with friendly staff. The deluxe king room was not huge but it was nice enough and appeared to have been updated in the last few years. The bathroom had a rainfall shower with hot water and consistent pressure. I was at the end of the hall on the 11th floor and rarely heard noise from inside the hotel and with the curtains closed, didn’t hear much traffic over the hum of the air conditioning unit. The hotel had no lounge and the only dining was a combine bar/restaurant area in the atrium lobby. There was also a small Starbucks. The breakfast staff went out of the way to please. Particularly, Emebet and Abdul, who bent over backwards to help me out on several hurried mornings. No room service but substantial food options available via delivery app from nearby. The gym was bigger than the average hotel gym and sufficient for a week’s stay but not health club level. Free weights up to 50 lbs, a handful of upper and lower body machines, Peloton bikes, TRX straps, treadmills, and elliptical machines. If there was a spa or similar facilities, I didn’t see them. Front desk, valet, and security staff were all pleasant and attentive. Everyone was very friendly with my 30 lbs dog, who probably thought he was a celebrity by the end of the visit. Plenty of nearby green space for our regular walks. Hotel parking was only available at a steep price through the hotel. Plenty of nearby garage and street options for cheaper if you’re willing to look around but watch out—DC parking enforcement is notoriously unforgiving. Ultimately, the best part of this hotel is the location. In the center of it all—hopefully you enjoy your stay by not staying in the hotel much. I would stay here again.

I returned to this hotel to stay for a business trip for almost a month— and because it was so great Im going to stay again for another month! First and foremost I must thank the Front Desk Supervisor Mr. Alani who made my staff perfect! He greeted me every time he saw me and asked how he could make my stay more enjoyable. He made sure as a Lifetime Titanium Member I had a perfect stay. The staff is so friendly and the room was modern, clean, with a great layout. The breakfast is outstanding - food was top notch. The housekeeping staff was also amazing— they made the room look like the first day I checked-in - everyday! They have s great gym with free weights machines and cables. Finally the location is perfect with plenty of bars and great restaurants within walking distance - plus a 24 hour CVS and Wawa next door. Thank you Mr. Alani thank you for all your help during my stay - see you next week for another month! Thank you thank you thank you!

Emebet was an amazing server and ensured that all of our needs were met. From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, making us feel welcome and at ease. Throughout our meal, Emebet was incredibly attentive, always checking in to see if we needed anything without being intrusive. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, as she provided excellent recommendations based on our preferences.
When our drinks were running low, she promptly refilled them, and when we had questions about the dishes, she answered them thoroughly and patiently. Emebet's friendly demeanor and professional service greatly enhanced our dining experience. It was clear that she took pride in her work and genuinely cared about her customers.
Moreover, her efficiency in managing multiple tables was commendable; we never felt neglected despite the restaurant being busy. Emebet went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and her efforts did not go unnoticed. By the end of our meal, we were thoroughly impressed with her service.
Emebet truly exemplifies what excellent customer service should be, and we look forward to dining here again, hoping to be served by her.

The hotel is well located, in the center of the city and close to the White House The rooms are large and comfortable, all have a window overlooking the hotel lobby, they have a safe, minibar, coffee maker and hair dryer. They are very clean and it is an aspect worth highlighting. Breakfast should be improved. The coffee is ugly, it looks burnt. Orange juice is not natural. They offer hot dishes (scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon and potatoes), fruit salad, cereals, pastries (although with limited options) and toast. On weekends they place all meals in a semi-closed, circular area and queues of guests form to collect breakfast. I stood in line for 20 minutes to pick up breakfast and that is unacceptable The reception staff is friendly, but there is always a delay in service.

Stayed 3 nights on our recent trip to D.C. We had one bad evening due to guests next door smoking marijuana in their room, which seeped into our room through a connecting door. The smell was terrible, it irritated my throat all night. We complained to the front desk, which they sent someone to spray air freshener. Sadly the air freshener didn’t mask the smell too long. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any room to move us to. We complained again because you can smell the guests were smoking again. Nothing much more was done to rectify the situation. The guests were also very loud. Security did come up and ask them to keep the noise down. The next morning the supervisor, Ms. Schaeffer, and the concierge, Mr. Peter Gill, were both very understanding and apologetic. They provided accommodations to us. We received vouchers for breakfast and were able to switch to another room quickly. We also received 5000 points. Ms. Schaeffer and Mr. Gill made up for our one bad evening. Mr. Gill also recommended we visit Hillwood Estate, which he was right it was the highlight of our trip. The location of the hotel was close to everything. We walked to most of the sites. The rooms were clean and neat. The staff from the valets to the restaurant were all friendly and accommodating. Ms. Sintu was also sweet, she made sure we had everything we needed for our breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

I arrived during the middle of a "Tornado" to a warm welcome. The sweet young African American girl name Aileen was pleasant offering towels to dry off immediately. Her constant smile and upbeat attitude took my mind off of a very bad traveling experience. We talked during check in and I witnessed she is major support system to your team. She helped me, the other staff member, and two frustrated people who were waiting all while checking me in. She even helped me avoid loosing my reservation BEFORE I arrived by contacting me directly to see if I would make it due to the storm and changing my reservation dates. I am here for business and asked about moonlight tours. I received a follow up "Welcome" email with very useful information including what I asked about. Nothing else about the hotel mattered to me after this. This is the hospitality experience I remember before everything turned digital. I will return just for this reason! Your night team is a breath of fresh air.

My wife's employer booked this hotel. It had a medium size lobby, a lounge/bar, and a dining area. As a Titanium level guest, my wife was disappointed that it did not have a member's club lounge. However, Cameron at the front desk, who was kind and efficient, comped both of us for breakfast during our stay of six days. She also upgraded our room. When we entered the room, however, we were surprised that it was an upgrade. It was a standard size room and somewhat dated. The upgrade must have been that we were placed on a high floor.
For the buffet breakfast offerings, $29.00 per person was steep in my opinion. Had we not been comped we would not have dined there. The food was fine, including scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, assorted breads, fruit, yogurt, coffee/tea, and orange juice. Surprisingly, it was the same exact spread every day, not the slightest change in anything, a bit like Groundhog Day. The servers worked hard. Abdul was a whirlwind of activity. Situ strove to please. I really appreciated Ana who was unassuming, very helpful, and genuinely nice.
My wife and I had dinner in the restaurant the first two evenings that we were there. Seating is in the open, off the lobby and bar. The food was tasty, especially the flatbread appetizer. Again, quite expensive but that's evidently to be expected in the DC area. Our server, Barry, worked very hard, on duty at both the bar and restaurant.
Regarding location, my wife would have preferred being closer to the Convention Center where her meetings were held. The hotel is approximately 20 minutes away by foot. There is another Westin much closer to the Convention Center, the Westin DC Downtown.
In sum, my wife and I considered the Westin Washington, D.C. City Center to be a nice hotel. It's a comfortable place to stay, down to earth, aging relatively gracefully, and with good, though pricey, food.

The Hotel itself is quite nice. The food I had while there was good. I would have liked to have had the option of something to drink in the lobby after having been out in the snow. Starbucks was not always open. Not even water was offered that I could find. My room was nice but although the light blocking window curtains worked well there was a huge gap all around my door. I ended up packing towels underneath it to help block the light and noise. I could hear laughter in the next room. Shower was nice. I really liked the handheld wand. I think for the cost it was not as I expected. I stayed as my group had booked the room. I might look into another option next time or stay outside the city to save money. Parking was 60 a night. I am a country girl and just not my kind of place.

Service was beautiful. Restaurant for breakfast was wonderful. Abdul is the best. Breakfast was served with a smile and checked on throughout the meal with fresh coffee and juice. Abdul greeted us with a smile and greatly appreciated the opportunity to serve us. Anthony was most attentive and welcoming. Very professionally run breakfast service.

We like to stay at Marriott properties, but this was not my favorite Westin experience. Room was a typical Westin room, could use better cleaning of the shower. We received an "upgrade" to a higher floor and received a view of the garbage alley. Location was a further walk to attractions than we were expecting and limited options for coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The other Westin in DC would have been a better choice.
