The Mansion on O is a Wonderland of visual and aural surprise and delight. In your wildest dreams, you have not imagined surroundings so eclectic, comfortable, lush, humorous, and over-the-top -- all of it at once homey and grand. It's a magic trick. It's a living museum. It's immersive theater in which the guest is the actor and the entire...

A group of five of us, all 30ish, did the scavenger hunt after brunch one Sunday. We arrived a few minutes late, and the employee gave us a great background on the mansion. Then, we were off and running. We scoured the 4 floors for secret passages and specific objects. This mansion truly is a hoarders paradise. I would never...

We were a party of 6, 2 adults, 2 college students, 2 teenagers. We had fun for about 2 hours exploring the mansion, learning the history and challenging ourselves to find as many secret doors as possible. It was not busy during our self-guided tour but if it had been I don't think it would have been as fun. There...

Having heard of the fun brunch and interesting mansion, we made reservations for the Sunday brunch. It is a delightful collection of rooms - with fanciful hats, books, amazing decoration, and secret passages everywhere. It feels like you've fallen down the rabbit hole with an eclectic collection of art. Take Mom, take the kids, take your significant other. Prepare for...

I stayed here 7 years ago on a business trip and described it to my daughters, who were in grade school. I mentioned I had to go back to DC for a work event, and they asked to go, and to stay at "that place". Right out of the gate, the Mansion had to live up to a father's stories...

Looking for something different to do? Wandering through the mansion on O street, looking for secret doors and hidden staircases, spotting thousands of cultural objects, icons, nick nacks and schlock is unlike anything you've ever done before!! I felt like Alice in the looking glass as I wandered around this wonderfully eccentric hotel and display rooms. The self guided tour...

I knew that my girlfriend would love the Mansion, and she had never been, though I told her about it late last year - after I had gone there for an office function (ok...Party) I booked us a room for a Saturday night, specifically so we could do the brunch/tour the next AM. (also to celebrate our anniversary!) We also...

This is the best place I have ever stayed. Vibrant, fun, magical, spotless. But most important the food was five star (I had baby lamb chops for dinner -- yum!) and an orgasmic chocolate dessert. And I haven't slept so long -- ever. I travel over 200 days a year, so I know what the best is. I wish The...

Didn't stay at the hotel but a local friend took us here for a surprise Halloween weekend brunch. We had a great time exploring this mystery Mansion on O Street with its many weird rooms, secret doors and Escher-like staircases, not to mention scads of old-time art, music memorabilia and other untold oddities. To add to the eccentricity, there was...
