First time here but love old hotels. Professional doorman and bellman take great pride in ensuring you feel welcome. Brought inside to check in location only to have a seat at a desk and confirming all our information and preferences. Bellman escorted us to our room and hung up our jackets and set up our luggage and provided us some details about their hotel. Comfortable room with beautiful bedding and comfortable mattress. Towels were soft and fresh and restroom was a good size. Breakfast in our room was lovely they brought our food 20 minutes after ordering and set up their table in front of the window. A little buzzer on the table calls the staff when you are done. Food excellent and hot. Very relaxing stay with late checkout. Love that Marriott now has this as part of their collection. Will be back.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at The St. Regis Washington D.C. We had one night away for our anniversary and it could not have been better. All of the staff, and especially Eugenia at the front desk, were absolutely fantastic! COVID-19 precautions were evident and made us feel very safe. All staff and guests followed the mask policy, hand sanitizer was readily available and only 2 people or one family in the elevator at a time.

We used a Suite Night Award certificate and were confirmed in a Caroline Astor Suite almost immediately (we booked only 4 days in advance). The staff provided a very thoughtful welcome with a bottle of Cava and Astor chocolates in celebration of our anniversary. When I mentioned we had carryout from one of the Michelin restaurants arranged for dinner Eugenia immediately made arrangements to have everything we would need to enjoy our meal delivered to our suite.

Room service in the morning was fantastic and put our $60 Titanium breakfast credit to good use. I loved the Astor Omelette with lobster and crab! I absolutely cannot wait to plan another stay in the future. The staff certainly made our short visit memorable. I can say that everyone we encountered represents the hotel and the St. Regis brand impeccably!

Another Great Stay at the St Regis

In June, we were back to Washington, DC, as my wife had meetings on Capital Hill. For about the 4th, or 5th time, we stayed at the St Regis, 923 16th St NW, and once more, had a lovely business stay.

We were greeted by the reservations agent, and because of our BonVoy status, were upgraded to Room 415. This was on the front of the building, overlooking 16th St, but we had stayed in these rooms before, once on the second floor, and once next door, on the fourth, so we knew the room, and its general orientation. We also knew that in the past, we had not encountered any nosie, from the street below.

Our room had a very comfortable King bed, a small desk, a “wardrobe wall” with: closets, drawers, a mini-bar, safe and flat-screen TV - this is common in these St Regis rooms. The bathroom is on the small side, but adequate, and the single sink had a small vanity, so not much horizontal space for our cosmetics. It also had a combo tub/shower, which is not ideal for my wife, with two artificial hips. We had a full amenity kit w/ very nice St Regis Remède products.

In the closet, there was an iron, w/ ironing board, and a full valet box, with clothes brushes, etc. Complimentary shoeshines are available, I took advantage of that service.

On the desk, we had several AC outlets, so charging devices was not an issue.

As stated, this room overlooked 16th NW, but it was very quiet, and we heard no street noise, or any noise from within the hotel.

This was a fairly quick stay, with just one meeting, that had to be postponed from our trip, only over a month before, but the stay was very nice, and we have always found the St Regis to be very conveniently located.

We will definitely return to this hotel.

While it looks nice on the outside, it's old and worn down on the inside. The bed was like sleeping on a brick. The room was either freezing or boiling no matter how much we tried to adjust the thermostat. The security chain latch had been broken and was repaired by screwing a board directly to the door and reattaching the latch. It just looked cheap. The wallpaper was peeling off in several places. The room service breakfast was cold with very runny scrambled eggs. The granola was mostly fruit puree with only three pieces of granola in the bowl. The coffee tasted like it was from a pot that was left overnight. When I complained to management, I was told that they would look into it and that was the last I heard of it. Also, there is no coffee machine in the room, so you'll have to wait about half an hour to get some. The Ritz at least has a Nespresso machine in the room.

My best friend and I stayed in the St Regis Suite last night and the experience was beyond memorable. The staff, particularly Ayesha, was incredible. She made us feel like family from the moment we checked in. The suite was meticulously cleaned and felt like the traditional luxury that the St. Regis is known for. The $60 a night credit a day for breakfast is a nice perk for elite Marriott Bonvoy members during the absence of lounges during covid. This was my first stay at this location in DC and will not be my last!

I usually wait a few days to write a review, to make sure I fully capture the entire hotel experience. This time I decided to write the review the next day as I didn't really need time to reflect.

We stayed one night mid-week and while the location, a few blocks from the WH, is superb, I left with the feeling that this property was more JW Marriott (at best) than a $700+ a night hotel.

Arrival was easy and check-in is somewhat hidden behind large red curtains that hang to the side. We were not offered anything to drink although a table with water bottles was standing feet away. While courteous, we both wondered if the fact that we were using points played a role in the room assignment as well as the entire transaction.

Only one elevator was working throughout the stay which added obvious wait times when we wanted to go to or from our 7th floor room. The room itself was an adequate size with two queen beds, and a small desk with one chair. Beds were comfortable with high quality sheets. Bathroom had double sinks and a shower that needed a little tlc (showerhead and tile needed a good cleaning).

Due to Covid the fridge was removed as were all glasses and coffee maker etc. While understandable it also made the room feel somewhat sterile. There was no turndown service, no newspaper delivery and very little else to make you feel that you were at a St. Regis.

The restaurant was not open for dinner mid-week, so we ordered room service and the person who brought us the food was a gem. He was cheerful and for the first time made us feel like welcomed guests. The food itself was adequate.

Very little staff interacted with us throughout the stay, We wanted the concierge twice but once he/she was not yet on duty and once away from the desk. The staff at front doors were moderately attentive although my wife ended up opening the door twice herself.

Overall, compared to the Jefferson and the Hay Adams this property is comfortable but not outstanding for the price point. Not sure if this is aftermath of Covid or part of being part of a large Marriott comglomerate. Loved the Atlanta St. Regis cannot say the same for this one.

I had an exceptional stay this weekend at the St. Regis, Washington DC hotel. A skip and a hop from the White House, the location is impossible to beat (orange, silver, and red stations within a 4 minute walk).

What makes this hotel stand out, however, is the service. Some hotels are taking COVID-19 as an opportunity to cut down on hospitality. Not the St. Regis! The hospitality, while respecting safety protocols, meets the same St. Regis standard that I am used to before the pandemic. Celebrating a special anniversary, we were welcomed to our room with a delicious dessert spread. Breakfast, whether taken in the room or in the restaurant, was served in the usual manner without any plastic bag / utensil ridiculousness.

The room was standard St. Regis fare; nothing "special" about the DC hotel but that's not a bad thing.

Overall, this was a fantastic stay and I can't wait to stay again after COVID passes.

I took my teenage son on a trip to DC for a few days after Christmas. We wanted luxury and flair, and our decision was between the St. Regis and the Hay-Adams. The St. Regis had a lovely lobby area that was still decorated for the holidays, so we settled on a premier room (one level up from basic), and requested a high floor away from the elevator. We were booked in a room on the second floor next to the elevator. Not sure why they asked me for preferences prior to arrival if they didn't intend to honor my request. I did not move, as we arrived exhausted.

The room was not super exciting, but nice. The bathroom was fine but small with no water pressure for the shower. The front desk and concierge staff were less than friendly, but the restaurant staff was amazing and the food was very good. The location is walking distance to the mall and museums, but a little bit of a walk. There is a subway very close by, and it's easy to get a cab. After sightseeing, we opted for a scooter ride back to the hotel (you can use your Lyft app and grab one when you see them, they were on many corners), which was easy and a treat. Parking is $65 a night. There are no shops in the hotel, but plenty just around the corner,

My wife and I have stayed at St. Regis properties around the world and they have always proven to be delightful experiences. The St. Regis Washington D.C. is no exception. We stayed for five nights shortly before Christmas and found the hotel to be elegant, charming and a lot of fun. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the season, the bar was lively, the staff was warm and helpful, breakfast (the only meal we ate at the hotel) was consistently delicious, and the location offers an easy walk to the White House and many of the city's major sites. In short, it was exactly what one would hope for from a luxury brand in a sophisticated city.

Also to their credit: we were disappointed with our initial room, as we were cashing in lots of Marriott Reward points and were supposed to receive a real upgrade. We had a word with Gerard, one of the managers, who could not have been more accommodating. He worked some magic behind the scenes and made sure that our last four nights we stayed in a room that was excellent in every way. We were very appreciative he took such good care of us. It's the sort of world class hospitality that keeps us coming back to the St. Regis... wherever we may be.

2 night April weekend stay, received 3 level upgrade from a King Superior to King Grand Luxe. 5pm check in, reception in seated private rooms, front desk goes out of their way to please and it’s nice. 7th floor french window, high ceilings the room is large and immaculate asked for mini fridge, extra towels and toiletries on reservation which were all waiting when we arrived. Curved TV screen and bathroom huge with nice towels, robes and slippers. They delivered ice for free in huge champagne bucket with glasses. Plenty of free bottled water at reception.

Unlike Ritz Carlton’s the St Regis DC gives generous $60 breakfast credit for platinums and was good for ROOM SERVICE! even after extra food and tip my out of pocket wasn’t bad. I expected breakfast to come in a takeout bag with plastic utensils (covid19), instead it arrived classic room service style. We requested housekeeping, just phone them when you leave your room.

We both found this hotel to be at top of luxury bracket, I would be hard pressed to say anything in Marriott collection in DC is better than this place, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Slacks and long sleeve shirt or dress for women. It is not formal or dress up. Some business meetings were in play while there so men had suits but this would not be required.
