Stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the surroundings and tracking Queen Charlotte: best hostel ever! Such a beautiful place with many travellers and stunning garden! The facility was very well maintained and the atmosphere in the evening is just very welcoming! Definitely will return! Great location as well - close to everything by foot ☺️

So I had to catch the ferry the next day and I decided to stay for one night in the villa. It was clean, the friendliness awesome and the travelers sweet and cool. I enjoyed my stay really. Sure, after 100 years, at some points it just doesn't look as good as you might think and it was a bit... More

Pretty old building with lots of space in rooms to spread out kit. Staff really helpful, recommending hire car company (used them) before I arrived. Kitchen clean though very little crockery or equipment, maybe loaned out to people on multi-day hikes? (can also arrange for you). Inviting enclosed garden area with hot tub & lots of places to chill.

I did like this hostel, it's very cute with a reasonable sized kitchen and a sociable living room, the location is good and the bakery next door is very good. But it's not the most modern, bathrooms are small and have frosted doors which I found awkward and uncomfortable. The rooms are very basic with few sockets for everyone there... More

Really lovely place about 3 minds from the sea front. Very friendly staff, great facilities which are clean. Beds were okay. Really quiet at night but also super relaxed about letting people have a few beers.

It wasn't not nice, it was just a bit like being at a commune. I'd stay again as its a good location in town and next to a great bakery (award winning apparently) but, they could do with retraining their cleaners...

We booked into the Villa for one night and they offered to organise all the accommodation and transport for us to do the Queen Charlotte Track at no extra charge. This went without a hitch and on arrival we were issued with all the vouchers. The villa is a great place to meet with others, right in the heart of... More

I came over from Wellington for a one night stay, and I'm super glad I picked the Villa! It suited my needs as a short-term solo traveller Pros: - Gorgeous complex with a lovely outdoor area - Central location, next to a popular Dutch bakery - Amazing high-pressure showers - Well equipped kitchens - Book swap - Knowledgeable staff -... Three of us where stopping in Picton for a night after coming over on an evening ferry. The villa was perfect for what we needed; - affordable - kitchen with cutlery and crockery etc - close to town, easily walkable - pool table and spa pool complimentary (they also had bikes which were free to hire) - we drove but... My friend and I stayed here in a mixed dorm on our way to Wellington. It was the cutest backpackers I've seen with lovely gardens. There was also a spa that anyone could use and the overall feel was really nice. The staff were also really friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend to anyone travelling through Picton!
