We have stayed twice at La Rochelle, in June 2008 and October 2016, each time for two nights. Our current hosts, Alex and Jane, were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with good kitchen facilities. There are plenty of eating establishments nearby, or it is an easy walk (or drive) down to the waterfront, where there...

Great motel! The rooms all back onto a little garden and stream. It is so pleasant to sit out on the balcony and eat breakfast in the morning to the sound of the water trickling past. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was spacious, with good water pressure, and a little heater. The kitchenette was well-stocked to...

Loved opening the ranch-slider to the deck and listening to the stream running by through the native trees. So peaceful. Hosts were excellent and so helpful. Accommodation was very good. Handy walking to everything. Would love to have stayed longer. P.S. Don't forget to visit the hotel across the road.

Hi Wally O, Thank you for the review. We are lucky to have a relaxing native garden that the rooms overlook. It is the prefect place for a gin & tonic in the afternoon. Hopefully you get a chance to visit Akaroa again soon. Kind regards Alex & Jane

We stayed for a few nights, it was a little squeasy, but helped with a great little bench in a private courtyard next to a stream. The staff were very helpful and it was a nice stroll to cafes or a short stroll to the pub across the road for dinner

Not struggling for accommodation as it is not peak time but found this place through Booking.com. Clean and cared for and has everything we would need. Owners more than helpful and would no doubt recommend it.

We stayed in the 2-bedroom apartment and loved it. We were allowed early check-in, and parking onsite is free. Wifi is easy and unlimited. Our unit had a spacious kitchen, comfortable chairs and couch-bed in the living room, and a balcony with chairs and a table overlooking a stream. Furnishings were new and the room was clean and tidy. The...

everything is compact, sit on the toilet and the wall is close but the main room has enough space, comfy except for too soft a bed giving me back ache Handy without being in the middle of town. While compact space was adequate and no problems with the main room. Helpful staff

Hi Peter, Thank you for the review. You are correct the bathrooms in the king studios can be short on space especially for people of larger stature. I would suggest a booking a queen studio for your next visit as they have more spacious bathrooms. We are sorry to hear that you didn't have a comfortable sleep. All except one...

Just a wee walk to town, maybe 10-15 minutes, but nice and flat. Unit was beautiful. Well appointed and very clean. Lovely wee terrace beside a wandering stream, lovely for that afternoon drink. Laundry was well priced and staff were very helpful.

Very welcoming host. We had the disability studio unit and although small suited me perfectly. Door into bathroom only suits standard size chair, but handles everywhere and great shower. Access to bed is easy. Nice kitchenette and the motel was close to all facilities and restaurants. Each groundfloor studio had its own private patio which would have been lovely on...
