After another great day at the Akaroa Cooking School we had booked a night at the, close by, Room With a View B&B. It was a lovely stay. One does not pay for polished marble, nor for shiny ensuite, spa bath, mod cons, etc. No, you pay (little) for a comfortable warm bed, a true New Zealand character villa, a... More

One of the best B & B's we have ever stayed in. Rosemary the Host is exceptional and has an excellent knowledge of the area having lived there most of her life. This 1887 house is so good and most interesting. It is comfortable way beyond what one would expect from such a old house. A very comfortable room, good... More

Our apartment was so cosy clean and comfortable and the view was absolutely amazing. My 3yr old daughter loved having a bath on the balcony with the beautiful sunset in the background. Also all the generous condiments you supply was awesome. This is definitely our top pick for our weekend get aways in the future. Thank you so much for... More

Rosemary is a delightful hostess with the mostest, nothing being too much trouble. She's also very knowledgeable about the area. The house is very homely with a delighful garden and lovely sunsets which you can enjoy from the comfort of the verandah. We'd definitely return.

We spent 2 nights at room with a view with another couple. We enjoyed the quiet cottage, just near the village. You get bay views, with a quiet atmosphere. It is conveniently located on the edge of town near the lighthouse. The rooms were simple, spacious. We shared a bath with the other couple. Rosemary treated us with a nice... More

Rosey was the most hospitable hostess. The house was a gem built in the 1800s. The room was huge and homely. Great homemade lemon meringue pie as a bonus was to die for. Great breakfast. Great verandah, with a fantastis aspect of Akoroa. There's not much Rosey doesn't know about this wonderful gem of the south island of NZ. Highly... More

We returned to Akaroa to walk the Banks Peninsular track for a second time and had enjoyed Rosemary's "Room with a view" B&B last time so we chose to reprise the decision to stay there. Great location a short stroll to Akaroa village combined with a host who made us feel welcomed and provided the best local tourist information that... More

This place and its host are utterly charming, both possessing all that is good about this harbourside town. Rosemary makes a wonderful breakfast with moreish warm croissants and fruit compote with her own homegrown peaches. She shares her local knowledge and gives advice about the area and its attractions in her gentle, friendly manner. This is the place to stay... More

The room is spacious and felt like home, of course with a view of the bay. Rosemary who owns the place is the drawcard of this property. Her breakfast is great and her home baked croissant is divine.
