Amazing place! It's a small hostel, charming and intimate, it feels like home! The staff is very friendly and fun to be around, helpful too. For nature lovers it's the perfect place as it's in a remote location on a hill (20 min by car from Akaroa) with nothing but green all around. It's really relaxing to just sit outside,...

The perfect place to stay. That's the way I imagined New Zealand and the way I want to keep it in mind. Big value of different rooms with special starlight accommodation :) (I hope it's still there). If I ever suffer a burnout I'll come here and relax for sure.

This place is incredible. The staff are welcoming, the place is homely and the scenery to die for. Akaroa, the town itself is an abosolutely stunning place, and to have somewhere like Onuku Farm Hostel to kick back and relax at, is just joy!! If you don't have a vehicle, it may be difficult to get to - however they...

The Hostel is located in an excellent location away from the town. And not that far away, which is great. Lot of possible hikes and walks. We were there only for a day so did one that led us to this awesome view of the Akaroa bay. Lot of birds around. The staff is very welcoming and warm. Ever ready...

This Farm hostel is located next to nothing on a hill 10 minutes away from town. This location is beautiful there and you can find a lot of walks and nature around the farm. You can stay in a historic 150 year old house so sometimes it gets a little bit could. Everything looks nice and clean. The beds a...

We stayed there with our Campervan. This spot is just beautiful. In the middle of nature with 3 free running very friendly sheep on the ground (u can touch them). You can walk everywhere on these area and meet different pets/animals like cows, Goose, Chicken and sheep of course. At the coast we found some Paua-Shells. The tent side is...

Well, this has got to be the most hip campsite I have ever visited. I wanted to stay somewhere close to Christchurch for my morning flight. It is a little away from the town of Akaroa but this did not bother me the least bit. They have a hostel and a place for vans, tent sites, and also huts. They...

Akaroa is a beautiful place to visit and I highly recommend staying at Onuku. The hostel itself is clean and tidy. Great facilities. Lovely staff. Idyllic hilltop setting with amazing views. I liked the farm animals that roam around the place too. We had a fabulous 2 night stay including doing the dolphin watching which was fun and well organised....

Lovely place to stay. I've stayed here many times, and while it's grown over that time it's still a wonderful, peaceful place to be. The scenery, views, and bird-life are all a part of what makes this place so great.
