We have been locals since 1986, so my view is broader and fairer, I think.
It's been an absolute pleasure to deal with the two Receptionists both personally and via emails.
They are punctual, professional, caring, flexible and go the super extra mile to make their guests' stay, very pleasant and long lasting.
The room, the quarters, is spacious, comfortable and does exude a certain fleur, combing past and present in a very gentle manner.
I do strongly recommend the Warders Hotel, their complimentary light breaky at the Gimlet.
The Gimlet bar and coffee serves an amazing 5 Senses coffee.
Their pastries are fresh and very nice.
The Barista is just as lovely.
On a minor tiny note, the toiletries should include shower caps and perhaps the fresh lemon and lime should be checked for use past date and the bathrobes should be "fresher".
By all means, locals or tourists, just spoil yourself with one night at the Warders Hotel.
Thank you, grazie mille for having us and for your kindness.
Bravi.
Lorella.

Booked the larger suite room and for some reason was given the "accessible" room which would NOT book again - decor is very good, bed comfortable, but the room is noisy because (a) you're next to the busy and noisy restaurant, and (b) upstairs they were herding buffalo (or they were treading lightly and the floor is just thin - also the accessible room (last room nearest street) has no door between bedroom and other rooms so NO way to block noise - hotel said the other rooms had a door, but didn't see them so can't verify. My tip, get the smaller upstairs room. Nice touch having sparkling and still water on tap in room, and remember these are refurbished heritage buildings so not everything can be polished or fit square.

I saw Spring in Freo special offer and thought it would be a nice way to celebrate my birthday with my husband. Two night stay at Warders Hotel with Dinner, breakfasts, day trip to Rottnest Island all included was hard to resist. I am so glad we decided to take up the offer. The hotel is perfectly camouflaged into the historic row of terrace houses in the centre of Fremantle. Quick and easy check in without any fuss, and the surprises kept coming! On the outside the stone building didn’t give anything away about the lovely modern decor on the inside. Beautiful marble bathroom was so spacious and included top quality and beautifully made hand and body wash, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner.
The bed was so comfortable and the bedlinen superbly upmarket. There’s sparkling and still cold water on tap, a mini bar, coffee pod machine, hairdryer and an iron plus ironing board conveniently folded away in the cupboard. Double glazed windows were the best solution to ensure we had a blissful sleep even though we were right on the market square.
An interesting mixologist happily shared his expertise in the teeniest gin bar on site that doubles as the coffee bar for early morning coffees and pastries.
Emily Taylor restaurant show cased the best of Asian fusion food and is simply 40 steps from our front door.
If Asian food isn’t your thing, a feast of restaurant options are a short stroll away and include Italian, Mexican, Turkish, and many others.
One cannot escape (pardon the pun) the prison history of the place, and the looming prison building on the hill is a reminder of the dark past of the city.
There are respectful reminders of the humans who lived here as prisoners and those who watched over them and one is intrigued by their stories retold in bronze plaques around the city.
We will definitely revisit and highly recommend it to those looking for a unique location and superb quality stay.

If you are tired of staying in bland international chain hotels then do yourself a favour and check out The Warders Hotel in central Fremantle. It’s location could not be better and this heritage buildings renovation has been completed with style and with every modern comfort. The bathrooms are stylish and ultra modern and the quirky decor of the bedrooms make a stay very memorable. The king beds are worthy of particular praise. Our room was spotlessly clean and tidy on arrival and there are some very thoughtful little perks like free coffee / pastry for breakfast, free pre dinner drinks and a free mini bar. It’s nice to feel like an appreciated guest. But special mention should be made of the staff who were thoroughly courteous, friendly and helpful (the same goes for the service in their excellent restaurant). Highly recommend.

Comfy bed, hot shower, sparkling water on tap, very central location near beautiful eateries like Emily Taylor. A great stay. Parking was $25 over night which is good for Freo. It's right around the corner from the coffee strip.

We enjoyed our room and were most impressed to have a beautifully appointed bathroom, all goods in the room and mini bar were free of charge, and sparking plus fresh water on tap. The rooms were clean and fresh.
This water was a winner. !!!
The Gimlet bar provides a friendly comfortable space for breakfast, drinks or even dinner. The food comes from the kitchen of Emily Taylor restaurant. Part of the complex. We stayed 4 nights while moving house but will go back again to enjoy time staying in Fremantle.

This is our second stay here and absolutely love the place. We really enjoy the way that the rooms have been done up and the small touches like the sparkling and still water taps along with the complimentary mini bar. It’s right in the hub of Fremantle so you are in walking distance to most cafes, restaurants and bars. The Gimlet is a fantastic spot to have a quite drink or coffee. Areas for improvement: our room had some rising damp issues that created a slight musty smell in the back room and paint was coming off the wall into the floor. Also when staff didn’t close the shutters to Emily Taylor’s the sound particularly in the back room was very loud! As it was still 10PM and the sound was blaring I went and shut them myself. It would be nice to have a bath given the size of the bathrooms but not a game changer for us at least. Apart from these I couldn’t fault the place and would recommend it to others.

We had a great stay at The Warders. The location next to the Fremantle Market was wonderful as we arrived on Sunday when it was open. But the hotel is right in the middle of everything and we walked everywhere. It is a very unique hotel with comfortable beds. We enjoyed the complimentary happy hour drink and the coffee/pastry in the morning. The room had taps on the wall for still/sparkling water and even a lemon & lime on a cutting board which was a first for us.

We had the pleasure Wednesday night to stay in this beautifully restored historic Warder Hotel and were their very first guests, lucky us! The Courtyard Room had everything thing we could possible want and the authentic historic features made it feel extremely cozy, comfy bed and I loved the quirky still water and sparkling water on tap - cool!
We ate in their new Asian fusion Emily Taylor restaurant, as you can imagine it was the opening night - the place was full of excitement and energy - service was impeccable even though they were so busy. I love that they kept the beautiful jacaranda tree in the open courtyard what a great place to catch up with friends on a summer night.
We will definitely be back again

Comfortable, clean, and walking distance to local bars and restaurants. All rooms are entered from an external courtyard so it feels very private. No long corridors. It has a hip vibe without compromise to quality. This will be my place stay in Freo from now on.

Not sure. We stayed in the old block - it was lovely. We ate at the restaurant underneath, which again was good quality and the small bar at the entrance to the hotel is friendly and very nice. I imagine photos are on the website?
