Lovely place to stay and the rooms are great. Staff were beautiful and friendly Defiantly a place to stay if you love Freo.. We have stayed in Freemantle many times and this place is lovely for couples. Hard if you got kids as no pool area but apart from that its brilliant.

We went to the National last night to watch a band play. We went early to get dinner first, the main waiter there was extremely attentive, and gas great customer service skills. We didn't have a booking, and they squeezed us in. There was a table of 20 that had just ordered before us, and the waiter keot coming up and giving us rough eta for our meals to be brought out - we actually didn't wait too long though!! My husband ordered the fish burger, he said is was really oily, and unfortunately not that good. I ordered the porterhouse steak with whiskey pepper sauce - I've had this before - but the alcohol wasn't taken out enough, so I wasn't a fan. I asked if I could get garlic sauce to replace it, the young waiter said it would be done in 10 mins, as the chef was really busy - I totally understood this - but 30 mins later, no garlic sauce, and my steak was cold. When the I FINALLY got the sauce, it was great - but would have been fabulous on HOT food.. They brought out two garlic sauce - one was warm, and the other piping hot - I can only assume that the sauce I had been waiting for had been made, waiting for it to come out, the other was just made. I was offered a free drink for waiting 45mins for sauce 🤦🏻‍♀️ ANYWAY It was ok overall.

All I can say is poor choice of mainstream beers... Minimal stubbies And $9 for a can of VB. Why would I come back? I don't like the beer and it's too expensive. Location is good in the heart of Freo but that's about it. Lunch time on a Wednesday and it's empty.

Well what a great find for a central hotel in Fremantle. Wonderful room, spotlessly clean, wonderful bathroom with classy toiletries, including a bath bomb for the large deep bath. Even a mini TV so you can luxuriate and watch TV. Quality linen on the bed and nice soft towels. Staff were so very helpful and polite nothing was too much trouble. Walking distance to almost everything in Central Freo and well priced secure parking available. We will definitely be back. I don’t have a single negative thing to say😀👍

What a beautiful and wonderfully renovated building in a superb location right in the heart of Fremantle. The owners have successfully managed to blend and balance contemporary style with period features creating a chic yet romantic hotel. We had a Deluxe Queen with Balcony room which was right on the corner of the hotel looking up High Street. It was a lovely, large room with a huge balcony, a very stylish bathroom with a wonderful shower and a proper hairdryer, there were robes, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and a very handy room safe. There was also an in-room book put together by the owner of The National Hotel, relating in depth the hotel's fascinating history which we thought a wonderful touch! The hotel has a relationship with a nearby parking garage which is well-worth the $25.00 for 24 hours and gave us the convenience of having a secure park accessed by a generated pin code where we could store our luggage in the car after we checked-out. The only negative in our stay was the rumbling noise of kegs being moved and delivered late at night and early in the morning. At least it was just kegs and not ghosts! All-in-all we were very happy with our room and our stay at The National Hotel.
