Tavira is a lovely little port on the Algarve with many places to eat and a ferry to take you onto the enormous beach. The Calcada guest house is ideally placed close to the centre of town and near to a free parking square. It has been modernised and is tastefully furnished and decorated, being also spotlessly clean, modern and...

What a fabulous place! It's simply magical...the fabulous breakfast is served on the roof terrace overlooking the river and the cobbled streets and white washed houses of the old Town of Tavira, the hosts were very welcoming yet not intrusive...we took our 11 year old who said it was better than any hotel!

We parked our car at the bottom of the Calcada de Dona Anna, so it was an easy trip up the lane to the guesthouse. The place is so hip and comfortable. We loved the rooftop -- from the amazing breakfasts to our late night Scrabble games. Bravo to Andy and Tamsin on providing this wonderful experience to Tavira visitors!

This guesthouse is a real gem with all the little touches, a fab breakfast is an optional extra up on the rooftop in fine weather or inside if you prefer. Daniel was a suburb host, informative, pleasant and personable. We only had one day there so he helped get us organised straight away and that night recommended a good restaurant...

Tavira itself is a stunning old town east of faro. Probably more suited to couples who just like to wander and relax. We stayed at the Calcada guesthouse. Breakfast on the roof terrace overlooking the River and the Old Town was amazing. Daniel picked us up from the airport (40 euros ), but there is a direct train to Tavira....

My husband and I stayed here in April 2016 and it was lovely. Modern, beachy, bohemian mid-century decor. Great vibe. Laid back feel but with all the bells and whistles you might need, including an espresso machine and wine glasses in the common room to use as needed. We were on the ground level. The room was spacious, nicely decorated....

We can't find words to express how wonderful this place really is . if you go definitely book breakfast because it was delicious and served on sun terrace by Daniel and Andrea...

I cannot recommend this place for two reasons: 1- you can find other places to stay in Tavira, with a reception just as friendly and a rooftop with a view just as nice, for a lot less money. 2 - other places in Tavira have a better approach to customers regarding booking conditions. I really disliked the withdrawal, without previous...

We stayed at the Calçada Guesthouse for one night in October 2016. It is a small family-run guesthouse that has recently been renovated. It is on a quiet side street close to the river and the centre of the town. We were asked to let the owners know when we were going to arrive, so that they could be there...
