Certificate of Excellence
The name Theophano Art Hotel is an expression of the fact that, apart from wishing to create a unique environment for guests, we also wanted to display our family collection of art and antique furniture, lovingly hand picked on our travels in Greece and abroad during the last twenty years. The collection ties in wonderfully with the buildings, and invites guests to enjoy it both in their rooms and the hotel's common areas. The common areas are an important part of the hotel as the accommodation is extended outside the individual rooms. The hotel offers a breakfast room and a lounge which overlook the Myrtoo Sea, where guests may enjoy their breakfast, or relax in different times in the day. There is also a shady veranda, a roof terrace with panoramic views and several separate lounges where guests may play board games, read, use the internet. These spaces are also used for events of different kinds. In the past we have successfully hosted book presentations and poetry readings, jewelry and painting exhibitions, classical music concerts, yoga retreats and weddings! In our hotel no two rooms are the same making every stay a whole new experience for guests, no matter how many times they return. The rooms differ both in terms of architecture, views, orientation, size and balcony as well as in terms of decoration and furnishings. Thanks to this, guests forget that they are in a hotel room and they find themselves immersed in the warm atmosphere of a mansion house. The hotel's location, on the square of Chrysafitissa, the largest open space within the Castle, is absolutely stunning. Once there, the visitor can directly enjoy panoramic views of the sea, the historic fortifications and the traditional settlement.

Perfect location ! Some rooms have balcony and trust me.... this is not something you can find very easily in Monemvasia. The room was quite small and although the breakfast was includes in the price, we were never served or informed about it. However I...More

We stayed at the Theophano Art hotel for two nights on a trip to Greece. First, the island of Monemvasia is absolutely stunning! One of the most beautiful places we have visited. What made it even more special was this charming hotel that’s located right...More

Good location and near the sea... Once you're in there you'll realize you're almost back in time... The room I was previously assigned was graciously changed to the ones much more nearer the sea and was tastefully decorated. Particularly the attractive hand carved wooden headboard...More

We stayed in a room with a wonderful balcony that afforded us a slice of sea view between the elegant buildings of Monemvasia. Our room was tastefully decorated and sympathetic to the surroundings with dark wood furnishings and a comfortable bed. We ate breakfast on...More

Dear hihihi, I admit this is an unsolicited response, but I felt compelled to respond to you review. First, let me assure you I have no vested interest of any kind in Theophano Art Hotel. I would like to address several of you points by quoting you. "...Floors with white marbles in traditional houses of greek countryside??? This for me is bad taste, at least have carpets at wintertime!!!" Perhaps white marble floors may be poor taste in traditional countryside homes, but seems you have missed the point that is a traditional Byzantine restored home, and the marbles are perfectly in accord with this ambiance! "...the least one should expect is a cappucino in his room when you wish to order,,,they do not have this type of coffee.!!!" Speaking of poor taste, one should question what taste is expecting cappucino in the room of a Byzantine establishment. Perhaps Byzantine coffee? Just saying... "...The decoration is ok but much less than we expected." You are partially correct. But then again, simplicity, elegance, and historic perspective, require knowledge and understanding. "... tv too small for the really huge room, no way you can watch from bed." In such romantic place, with presumably good company, and it's tv you want to watch in bed? Hmmmm... I suppose this sets the level... "...The only positive of the whole thing was the balcony , really one of the best views, but certainly not worth what they charged us!!!" As Warren Buffet says, "price is what you pay; value is what you get!"
