Clean rooms, common area and bathrooms. convenient location just outside of the city center helpful and very welcoming host. Kristine is so laid back that the whole atmosphere in the hostel lets you want to stay longer. We enjoyed our stay here very much!

I've stayed in this wonderful hostel twice, both times during a tourist lull season, but I'd reckon that regardless of who's staying there at anytime, one will find different levels of enjoyment. Ignore the pricey resto downstairs,(although it looks tempting; however it isn't connected to the hostel in any way) the rooms are comfy, facilities more than adequate, and staff...

We stayed at Blu Cow Hostel from 05.-08.Sep in a double room (actually a room with 1 double and 2 singel beds) with private bath and it was the best choice we could have made! It is owned by an australian couple, but managed by a local girl, Kristine, that speaks perfect English. For a hostel it was very calm...

Kristina (the owner) couldn't have been more welcoming, even at 11pm. The hostel is small and incredibly clean! The kitchen and common area is bright and open and the rooms were lovely. Great location in a great city!

This hostel puts all other hostels I've stayed in worldwide to shame! It's immaculate and the bunks were solid wood! From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcome and at home! Amazing location with it situated in the Barracks that divided Old & New Riga. Wish had taken more leAve to stay longer but we'll be back...

Close to everything, in an awesome referbished barracks, Blue Cow is a great place to stay. New, clean and helpfully containing both a clothes washer and a dryer, definitely worth a look!! Staff spoke great English and were really great help in giving us tips about some of the things to do and see in Riga.

“We have not used it, but the shared bathroom also looked nice. Shower and toilet are sperated, and they provide a washing machine. I rate rooms with 4 points, but only since I have not seen the dorm. In summer some of the rooms might be bit noisy when keeping the windows open, as all the barracks have restaurants and bars on their ground level that were quite busy outside even in September.”

“If you are traveling as a family or close friend circle, we recommend the private rooms, where you have absolute privacy and the luxury of an attached bathroom/closet etc. If you don't need such extreme privacy, the other rooms are also very much recommendable.”
