Travellers' Choice
Hotel Relais le Chevalier is like a piece of France in the very heart of the Old Town of Riga. Our hotel is located in one of the most famous buildings of Old Riga. According to the legend, the horseshoe which can be seen today on the facade of the building belonged to the horse of the tsar Peter the Great when he was passing by in the 18-th century. That’s where the name “Le Chevalier” comes from. The Italian designers from Terzomillenium studio have managed to convert the inner courtyard of the old building into an astonishing, full of lights and mirrors atrium of the hotel. We offer you 23 rooms, each made in individual style with some of them overlooking the atrium, free high-speed internet, round-the-clock reception, free breakfast which is said to be the best in Riga on the sixth floor of the building, from where all the towers and spires of the Old Town can be seen, in-house boutique Le Chevalier by Akcenty, a unique Calvados Bar and many other attractions to be discovered.

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old town. The room was very clean and comfortable and exactly nice as reported in the pictures. The most I appreciated was the quality of the staff and reception services. Alina and Dimitri were available to satisfy all my requests and needs. Finally I would come again here for sure and I would suggest the hotel to everybody who wants to live a staying of a 5 stars place paying for a 3 stars one!

We loved our stay here, and would stay again without hesitation. Best bits - location in the old town - so easy to get to anywhere either on foot or by public transport, including a 10 min walk to the central train station - Staff - the staff were absolutely lovely, especially bearing in mind they were thrust into a lockdown a couple of days before we were due to arrive! They couldn’t do enough for us, and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Dmitry was particularly helpful both before we arrived and during our visit. Lovely birthday touch in the room too. - Room - we stayed in the suite, which was well worth the money (£463 for 4 nights during school holidays), and we were particularly thankful for this due to the national 8pm curfew. I would really recommend looking at this room as it had a large separate seating area. - Cleanliness - everywhere was spotless, and our room was immaculate. - Fairness - our room rate included breakfast, but due to the lockdown they could not provide this, so reduced the room rate to reflect this. - Helpfulness - the hotel had 3 restaurants they provided information for, including for breakfast, and one had a 20% discount. Really helpful to share this with us, as especially on the first day while we tried to work out where was open, it just took that stress away (we then ate in other places we discovered). If we asked for anything it was sorted eg needing milk for our tea. - Facilities in room - plenty of coathangers, minibar (we used as a fridge which was great!), tea/coffee/water replenished daily. - Covid safety - excellent. Hand sanitiser in public areas and also in room. Everyone followed protocols. Even better ifs: - the whirlpool bath had been working, or we had at least been told on arrival it wasn’t - this would have saved us from trying to work out which buttons to press! - Instructions were available for items such as the bath and how to connect to the ceiling speakers. Top tips - if you stay in the suite be aware the windows open completely - there are no safety catches. - Arrange with the hotel for them to organise a shuttle to collect you from the airport -€25 but worth every penny as someone was waiting for us as we arrived and took us to the hotel. No worry about working out taxis! - Just be aware that there are no staff members on site overnight - we don’t know if that is normal or due to lockdown. However, there was a number to call if there were any problems (we didn’t need it, but it was good to know if it was there just in case). Other info The hotel is near a nightclub, though due to lockdown it did not impact us. However, ear plugs were provided in the room which I am sure are a bonus!

Very nice hotel close to most things in Old Town and Central. Roomy and comfertably room with a view to Old Town. Currebtly no breakfast due to the Covid-situation but plenty of good options around. Cleaning top notch and all staff has a focus on everybody’s corona-safety. We would stay again anytime!
