Great location, close to everything. The owner Jaan is very friendly and helpful. Rooms have a small kitchen and beds are on the upper floor. Rooms have no windows , there is only a skylight that opens in the roofand. For me the bed was a little bit uncomfortable. There is a supermarket a few blocks away where you can get...

The location is fantastic, although taxi drivers and local businesses have no idea that this 'hotel' exists. Unfortunately though, the service was terrible. If you arrive after 5 PM, the reception is closed. They sometimes make arrangements with the coffee shop next door, but when I arrived yesterday, we were just asked to phone. Two hours later, as I was...

This person booked the room through booking.com. There is written clearly, that if you'll arrive after 5:00p.m.,you have to contact with the property and to tell your expected time of arrival. We have not 24h reception for our 6 rooms. I have built all this property with all our galleries and shops myself and I cannot work 24h per day....

I've spent here just one night but the place made me want to came back. At first, location can't be better! Medieval center+artistic atmosphere of the yard+a really old building with modern facilities inside - a good combination! Since I have seen what I book I wasn't surprised by the stairs and had no problem with climbing. This time of...

We arrived and the place was locked-- chatted with someone in the cafe and they said they would call someone-- the owner was in Canada but his son would come in 15 minutes . . . 30 minutes later he arrived. It was advertised to have a balcony which it did but was just a very small area overlooking the...

The location couldn't be better -- a block and a half from Town Hall Square in Old Town Tallinn. It's nestled in a lovely courtyard with artisan shops and a cafe. The building, as Jaan pointed out, is older than my country! And the apartment was all it needs to be -- comfortable, clean and darling. It also includes a...

This was a very good place to stay to experience and enjoy Old Tallinn. Apartment is 2 storeys and compact but had what we needed. It is nestled in an old courtyard which has a cafe but the noise was not excessive. It is close to everything (even a supermarket). Jaan, the owner, was helpful and obliging and offered a...

I found this to be a wonderful private get away with a cute tiny little apartment that was handy for cooking and close to the store to buy groceries yet also was above a cafe for food/ drinks And also doubled as a good meeting up spot . It was close to all the attractions and easy to access. I...

Here's the quick hit, 10 being best: cleanliness and comfort=5, location=9, staff friendliness=9, local knowledge=9, overall value=7. This is an apartment in about the best location in Tallinn run by a master jeweler who operates from his showroom in the same 15th century building. Jaan's architectural background enabled him to convert this old building into an apartment with a loft...

For starters, this property should be listed in apartment rentals instead of the Bed and Breakfast category. We are a 67 year old couple who have traveled extensively in Eastern Europe and stayed at a number of B and B's and this is definitely not one! First, the positives: The property is located in a lovely courtyard in a perfect...

We booked a room at the Villa Hortensia in early July 2013 for a trip to Estonia at the end of August. The hotel proprietor asked that we confirm our room a few days before we arrived so that he could meet us, given that they do not have a 24 hour reception desk. I emailed about a week before...
