Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Impeccably clean throughout the hotel, our room was modern, bright and airy. TV a little ancient but who wants TV when you're in such a great location - 50metres from the Cathedral, literally just around the corner from some of Budapest's most popular restaurants and right next door to a great...

We stayed for three nights. The location is very good, in Pest on a quiet traffic restricted street. I don't think you could get a hotel closer to the Basilica, which is right on it's doorstep. If you have a room at the front of the hotel you will get a great view of the Basilica lit up in the...

Above says it all. Rooms disappointingly small. Elderly TV with poor reception. No ash tray although a smoking room - got given a saucer for entire 3 nights. Limited toilet roll and soap supply - rationed. Staff were friendly though and very well placed for great restaurants and the river - so no complaints really. Just a few modifications would...

Excellent location and value. A very central hotel within easy walking distance of the main attratctions. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The only negative thing was the buffet breakfast, not very exciting and the coffee was very strong!

It is a clean, spotless hotel, central, close to a lot of attractions. My room was quite small, there was no chairs and the beds were very low, the only place to watch tv or read was lying on the bed.The bottom sheet was too small, you can see the mattress at the head of the bed. There are no...

The hotel has a great location. It is within walking distance of lots of restaurants and things to explore. The actual hotel room was not too nice and our TV didn't work. But if you were going there only for a night and didn't plan to spend much time in the room I would recommend the hotel. It is dog...

Hotel Central Basilica is a great find. We only stayed there one night but was totally impressed. First the hotel looks like it was just renovated. It is very modern with period furniture. The rooms are spacious, with high ceilings, extremely nice furnishings, a safe and are spotless. The bathrooms are large with an enclosed shower and hair dryer. Breakfast...

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. The hotel is just off St Istvan Ter. So as you walk out of the front door of the hotel you are greeted by that beautiful Balisica. We had an inner facing room, so the view was not fabulous, but then again, by the time we got back to the room...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
