Firstly postion is fantastic, 2 minutes from Deak Ferenc Ter metro interchange, you can get about the city with such ease.(we get a 3 day pass for £12ish) You can't get lost the Basilica is 200 metres away and is visible everywhere. The hotel is clean, the rooms are newly decorated and the breakfast is good. The staff are helpful...

I am struggling to say anything negative about this hotel. Set in apedestrian street right beside St. Stephen's basilica it is quiet yet a the heart of things. Due to the volcano arrived at 2am instead of 6.30pm the evening before. No problem. Wanted couple more pillows and towels - no problem - arrived at the room within minutes. Included...

I stayed here in January 2010 with 3 other friends. We booked a 2 bedroom "apartment" room, and it was wonderful! It had 2 good size bedrooms, with wardrobes, 2 full bathrooms, and a large living room area. All three windows in the suite looked out onto St. Stephen's Basilica! What a gorgeous view! The room rate (which I believe...

The best thing in this hotel is its excellent location. Rooms are also ok, such as breakfast but this coold be more diverse. Restaurant only for breakfast. Didn't like the stuff attitude that much, they weren't very friendly. Check in was a little problematic - we arrived almost at 14:30h and still had to wait about 20 minutes so they...

We were fortunate to have a very comfortable and generous roof top room with an amazing view of The Basilica. The hotel was centrally located with restaurants and sites within walking distance. One of the highlights of staying at this hotel was the winebar a few doors away (The Winebar by Basilika) which has a fantastic selection of Hungarian and...

Having gotten used to staying in above-average hostels and cheap hotels, we were amazed at what £40/night bought us in Budapest. It's a well done, clean, comfortable, modern, safe room, but the breakfast is what sets it apart. We were warned that included breakfast might not mean much, but here we had three kinds of cheese, multiple rolls and breads,...

A very reasonably priced hotel whose location couldn't really be much better for sightseeing. Staff were very helpful when guidance was needed and could book some of the events for you. We paid extra for a superior room which had a view of the Basilica and the room was spacious and clean, although the bathroom was a little tired. The...

I found this on a number of booking websites and double-checked the reviews on here just to check. I'm glad I followed their advice! This really is an excellent 3* hotel and the its location can't be topped. It's on the corner of St. Stephen's Basilica square. Some thoughts about our stay: Pros: • The location! Just 5 minutes' walk...

I guess if you want to visit Budapest you can't find a better location. It is in a very quiet street just next to the Basilica (so the hotel name seems quite obvious!). You will find some very nice cocktail bars and restaurants in just minutes or even seconds away. The reception staff wes very professional and correct and check-in...

You will not find a better 3* hotel than this. If it had a bar and restaurant it would be 4* but there are loads of places to eat and drink nearby. The location is superb, in a pedestrianised street adjacent to St Stephen's Basilica. Liszt Terr (bars/rest) is 10mins walk up Andrassy Ut, the Chain Bridge and Vaci Ut....

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
