I stayed at the locust tree appartments and i was quite impressed. Hungary is really old and it is very rare to find modern appartments. The exterior had a pleasent modern finish which really stood out in contrast to the surounding old neighbourhood. i thought i could quite pleasently live in a place like this. it would have been better...

We had a great stay at the Locust Tree apartments. Definitely made our trip to Budapest special. The apartment was very new and clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Thanks again to Peter for being so helpful. I would highly recommend to anyone, any age. -T

Whilst I would recommend Budapest to anyone wanting to enjoy a city break in Europe, I wouldn’t recommend staying at Locust Tree Apartments. I chose Locust Tree based on reviews I’d read however, I was disappointed that the place did not live up to its billing. I work hard for my money and really didn’t like having to spend it...

Desperate to find a place to stay in Budapest, I started reading all kind of reviews. I wanted a cheap, cozy, central place and after reading reviews here I decided to go for the Locust apart. I contacted Peter Jones, the owner and made the reservation directly through e-mail. I was a bit skeptic when we arrived in Budapest, didn't...

Our stay in Budapest was the last of a four week holiday in Europe. We had been to Amsterdam, a number of locations in Germany and Prague. I can say without a doubt the Locust Tree Apartments were by far the best we experience in terms of , low tariff, high quality facilities and professional services. The assistance we received...

I did not enjoy my stay here. The apartment was not cleaned during my stay. The elusive staff were hardly there. When we arrived at the hotel late at night we had to wait outside nearly 40 minutes for someone to come and let us in and our apartment wasn't even in the same building. The lady at the reception...

This apartment was a unique way to enjoy Budapest. We loved being able to have our own porch, kitchen, and bathroom. It was also located near a metro and right beside a cheap internet cafe. The downfalls, however, were that the staff was hardly ever there. When we arrived to check-in at 3 (from a 20 hour traveling day), no...

I previously studied abroad in Budapest so I was feeling nostalgic and decided to rent an apartment for my short-stay instead of going to one of the big hotels. Big mistake! I had seen this property located on both expedia and another UK website, but did not realise that these owners rent apartments in two VERY different buildings on the...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
