The hotel is amazing, beautifully appointed and lovely visually. My room was large, comfortable and I liked the luxury of silk lined walls etc. Bathroom was good but marble tiles are slippery when wet! I used the spa for a massage and a facial and it is quite an experience. Very good service and an interesting setting. My only problems,...

This was my first visit to Budapest. I was drawn to this property because of its historic New York Cafe and the history of the building now refurbished and appointed as the hotel. First of all I must say the New York Cafe in its architecture and design did not disappoint. It is a fine example of over the top...

We recently enjoyed a great holiday in Budapest. We stayed at the Boscolo Hotel which is beautiful. We were very lucky to be double upgraded to a junior suite which was fabulous. The famous (in Budapest) New York Cafe is also part of the hotel. It is stunning.

The Boscolo is beautiful and well-located to walk to many sites in Budapest. Rooms are a good size and the spa is worth a visit. The staff was friendly and the concierge was especially helpful with my many questions. I would stay here again. Only downsides: 1) New York Café (attached) was actually the only bad meal I had in...

Ever since I saw the photos of this hotel, I was desperate to get there and see it for myself. It does not disappoint. It is a beautiful property - the entrance, the reception, the rooms and of course the restaurant/breakfast room. The location is okay, I would probably prefer to be closer to the river with the view of...

My boyfriend and I were very impressed with this hotel when we arrived and it was good overall. Very friendly, polite and welcoming reception and lavish and grand inside, felt truly 5*. We had a standard room, I had asked for a King bed but we had a King headboard and two singles, but it was very comfortable anyway (despite...

We entered this stunning hotel to find a less-than friendly staff after staying in the Boscolo Prague where everyone smiled and treated us as if they were happy to have us as guests in their beautiful property. Much unlike Prague, the Hungarian's at the Boscolo Budapest are most unfriendly and never smile. Our group of 4 couples experienced the same...

Beautiful hotel, with included breakfast in fabulous New York Cafe each morning! We had a lovely stay, in a huge, luxurious room, in the heart of Budapest. Easy access to most sights, either by walking, or easy to use, public transportation. The staff was very courteous, and made our stay extra special. I would definitely stay here again, and consider...

Boscolo hotel building is beautiful, the façade, the lobby, the internal patio with a glass ceiling and the New York cafe all very nice, although not renovated with same original materials (plaster mainly) Rooms are average, clean enough for a 4 star hotel (no 5 star) Regarding service, mileage will vary, some of the staff try to be polite, others...

Amazing hotel, beautiful entrance and opening into the hotel. The staff were very helpful both in the reception and cafe. The range of food available for breakfast was brilliant, from freshly cooked omelettes to fresh fruit and yogurts there was something for everyone. We used the new york cafe joined onto the hotel for dinner one night and the food...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
