It is in the very historical center of the city. Pest side is 5 minutes by bus and bus stop is in front of hotel. Prices are very good, hotel has all basic needs. I would prefer Burg Hotel again, if I have the chance to travel with my family too.

Lovely hotel set in the heart of the old town of Budapest (Buda side) within walking distance to the Royal Palace and its museums, the funicular railway and directly opposite the amazing St Mathias Church. The streets around the hotel are cobbled and the area has a great atmosphere. The bus stops right outside the hotel to take you to...

I stayed at Hotel Burg for my birthday trip to Budapest. We were greeted by the hotel Manager when we checked in, and as soon as he discovered it was my birthday during the day, he asked if I would like some Hungarian wine or Champagne... and on the evning of my birthday I was greeted with a bottle of...

This was a great value for an amazing location literally on Trinity Square in the Castle Hill district. We had free parking on the street in front of the hotel. (I believe all the hotels offer the same for their clients.) The people at the front desk were always very helpful about public transit, sites to see, etc. One gentleman...

My husband and I stayed at the Burg in December 2008, for a 4-day get away. We picked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and we made a great choice! The hotel is situated in a quite, romantic little square in the old Burg part of the city, right next to the St Matthias church. Fantastic location, provided you appreciate...

Stayed at the Burg for only 1 night but would go back in a second - to the city and to this hotel. We asked for a room with a view and definitely got it. We had a corner room which was bigger than most North Amercian standard size rooms, let alone European. Some furnishings were dated but the room...

This was our second stay. Our first stay was in 2006 and we were so impressed, that we returned this year. The Burg has all the ammenities a traveller could want. Our flight home left early and that morning we found a breakfast prepared for us in the lobby. The rooms are very clean and up to any standard. The...

I stayed at the Burg Hotel for nearly two weeks in July. It is good value for the price, but it is not without problems. The first is that there is usually only one person at the desk, so getting help with luggage is unlikely, and absent a lift, plan on hauling it yourself. The room I had initially was...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
