It's cheap to book and true enough you don't get any frills, but then you have not paid for them!! We stayed here for a stag weekend, the staff are great, fantastic English, rooms are basic but comfortable and clean with everything you need. The htel bar although basic is open 24 hours and is cheap as is the mini...

If you check all my reviews I dont ever moan, but this time im going to.... We got the taxi here, although two mins away from Killeti Station it is miles from walking into town. When we got up to the room, although the staff cant really be faulted I got really upset. Our room was on the road front,...

What we wanted was somewhere clean, safe and friendly to sleep whilst we were in Budapest. This hotel did all of those things well. The area is residential so is quiet and this is helped by the courtyard arrangement of the hotel. the room was a good size and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful with a good standard of...

The Star City is one of the best options in Budapest if you are on a budget but at the same time don't want to stay in a dump! It's within walking distance of Keleti station, so it's not right in the centre of town so this is why the price is reasonable. However if you don't mind a metro...

The main advantages are good location and cheap price. Thats all. Breakfast is poor, rooms are very simple and cheap, staff is stupid.

We three girls stayed here last weekend and were not sure what to expect. We had booked it through Expedia for a really low price. We were pleasantly surprised, it is clean, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The area looks a bit dodgy at first, however it is just an old part of the city and seemed quite...

This seems to be a relatively new (or newly renovated) hotel in a rather old part of the city, quiter close to the Keleti main station (10 min. walk). The hotel itself is nice, clean, rather small, with not too many guests (the balance of January and February) and silent. The breakfast is good, with the right variety of food...

For the money, Budapest's Star Hotel is pleasant: it's clean and cheery. The pillows were nice and big on the bed and the towels were nice, the staff friendly. The Star has a nice atrium-like sitting area. And it's not far from great stuff to do in Budapest, like near Heroes' Square. By coincidence I actually heard this radio show...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
