The hotel couldn’t do enough for us. When our room was not visited by a housekeeper then sent someone up. The Brasserie food was exceptionally tasty, we only ate traditional Hungarian fare over the three days and it was really superb.
Marble floor everywhere, not a speck of dust. What was a surprising find was the executive lounge which we had to pay 30 euros each for but it was very quiet and the staff member running it was charming , helpful and friendly.
That’s what I would say about this lovely hotel. The staff were all very polite and friendly.

First time in Budapest, we stayed at the Corinthia Hotel for a long weekend and it was the perfect choice. The hotel is grand, with an impressive lobby and stunning staircases. Our executive suite, overlooking the main boulevard, featured a lovely bedroom, separate living room, two bathrooms, and a small balcony. The room was well-decorated with all expected five-star amenities. The beds are incredibly comfortable, like an upgraded version of a traditional box spring. I slept like a baby throughout our stay. They’re also remarkably springy, which added a bit of fun for me and my partner—we couldn’t resist jumping on them! Definitely worth trying for a playful moment.
The hotel offers a great spa, indoor pool, gym, and several excellent restaurants. Booking an executive room is worth it for access to the executive lounge, offering superb breakfast, drinks, and snacks throughout the day. Both the main breakfast room and the lounge had plentiful, delicious options.
Located 30 minutes from the Danube sights, the hotel is closer to the Opera, Andrássy Street, and St. Stephen’s Basilica. A tram stop and hop-on-hop-off bus are nearby, and taxis from the hotel are reasonable, though less predictable elsewhere.
The staff, from the doormen to the concierge and executive lounge team, were all fantastic and professional. Minor issues included only receiving turn-down service on our last night and some noise from the balcony door. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will return.

Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The attention ww received was so welcoming, from arrival to departure it was seamless. The room was cleaned to a high standard and toiletries/towels were always replenished. I had a massage at the spa and it was just what I needed after a few days sight seeing as well as using the spa facilities such as swimming pool, steam room, sauna. The only things I would say is that I do note it says the hotel has sound proofing, however, I could clearly hear people through the walls which did keep me awake at times, one being at 2am. The other was we had a meal in the atrium and it does state that a service charge is included in the bill but when we paid we were asked if we would like to pay a tip - but the service change was already on our bill so why should we tip again? i was advised cash would be better for the tip but we didn’t have cash and as I state, it’s already added to our bill. Apart from this I cannot fault the hotel and would highly recommend for a stay in Budapest.

Overall our stay at the Corinthian was a good experience but as with any other service industry establishment there is always room for improvement. Our room was too warm and with a down comforter as the only cover on the bed, sleeping was uncomfortable. The adjustable thermostat had no effect on the temperature in the room and opening the window did not help because it opened to an atrium which was also heated. In contrast the bathroom was cool. It had a heater under the sink which did not work so showering was a fresh experience. The room had a mini bar which we found out later, let me explain. When we got home I received an email from Mr. Berk Pinarbasi, thanking us for staying at the hotel and informing me that they had to charge my credit card for the missing drinks in the mini bar. I informed him that we had no need for and did not drink anything from the mini bar. We paid for and enjoyed their holiday gala dinners and had full access to the executive lounge where we could eat and drink anything we wanted and at eighty years old we certainly would not drink Red Bull from the mini bar. I never heard back from Mr. Pinarbasi. Speaking of the gala dinners here is something you should keep in mind if you intend to have dinner at the hotel’s main restaurant. This eatery is open to the public so you, as a hotel guest, are not guaranteed a table unless you reserve and pay for a (very expensive) table, way in advance. We spoke to hotel guests who had no Christmas Eve dinner because the restaurant was fully booked and outside nearby restaurants were either booked or closed. And a word about the Royal Spa; It looks very nice and opulent but there is not enough recliners for you to put your stuff or relax on. But worse than that is that people leave their towels on the recliners when they leave the spa so you don’t know what is reserved and what is not. On our first day we came in and there were two people in the big pool, four in one Jacuzzi, two in the other and a couple in the sauna but there were towels on every single recliner. We put our stuff on the wet floor, spent a half hour in the Jacuzzi and since there was no place to sit we left. In the four days at the hotel we never went back. These are some things to consider when you are planning to pay premium prices for your stay.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review Corinthia Budapest after your recent stay. I am glad to hear that overall your experience was positive, but I sincerely regret the challenges you faced and truly appreciate your honest observations. Regarding the temperature issues in your room and bathroom, I apologize for the discomfort this caused. Your comments highlight areas where we can improve, and we will promptly investigate the functionality of the thermostat and bathroom heater in your room. Our guests comfort is our priority, and we will ensure these issues are addressed. I am also sorry to hear about the misunderstanding with the mini-bar charges. Our team should have handled your concerns with more clarity and responsiveness. We will review this process with our colleagues to prevent similar incidents in the future. Your feedback about our main restaurant during the holiday season is invaluable. We strive to accommodate all our guests, but the high demand during special occasions can sometimes lead to challenges. We will work on better communication and planning to ensure our guests have access to dining options, especially during peak periods. As for the Royal Spa, we deeply regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. We will look into improving the availability of recliners and ensure clearer signage to address the issue of towels being left unattended. Your observations will guide us in enhancing our guest experience in this area. Once again, thank you for your observations. We hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back soon so that we may demonstrate that we stand behind our commitment of providing guests with memorable experiences. Best Regards, Eric Pere General Manager

Nice hotel well situated in Budapest. The building is wonderful and the common areas are in a good condition.
The room was perfectly adequate although I found the bed very uncomfortable as it had a very thin (presumably cheap) mattress. I ended up sleeping on top of a towel and folded the sheet and blanket so I didn’t feel the springs. Such a false economy in my view. Shower leaked over the floor but there were plenty of towels to dry it so didn’t bother me much. Perhaps I just got a bad room.
Staff were friendly and pool area, whilst small was nice to have.
Breakfast was good, not the best but perfectly acceptable and what I’d expect in a four star hotel.
All in all I wouldn’t go back as staying in a hotel with uncomfortable beds seems ridiculous to me when there are plenty of other decent hotels in the city.

Imposing fin de siècle grand hotel with refined architecture. Completely demolished and rebuilt inside at the beginning of 2000, maintaining the facade, the common spaces and the staircase as it was in the past. The rooms are therefore new and functional, with minimalistic furnishings, certainly not five-star. The socket for the electric razor didn't work in mine. Excellent and rich breakfast, although lacking in desserts. Room service left something to be desired. One day they didn't redo the room, the next day they redone it, but they put medium towels and not the large shower ones. The hotel has a very nice swimming pool, but it does not have thermal water like in other famous sites in the city, but only heated water. It also charges customers €30 per person for entry. The assistance of the concierge was disappointing, as he was unable to recommend guided excursions.

My husband organised a surprise trip to Budapest to celebrate us being married 20 years knowing how much I wanted to visit. He booked the Corinthian Hotel and I can with total confidence say that this hotel and the staff are amazing. The hotel is spotless. The staff welcoming and attentive. The spa is intimate and elaborate in design with the stained glass windows and possibly one the best steam room I have been in and I love to spa. The food in the bar is really nice and priced at a good price point along with the food in the main restaurant. The housekeeping staff work so hard to keep this hotel spotless. The decoration and vibe is so nice. I would like to mention a few members of staff who I do feel went over and beyond while we stayed. If you have the pleasure of meeting the waitress Fanni in the bar you will find that she is both polite and attentive. Very good at her job. I’m not familiar with Hungarian red wine but the bottle she recommended was amazing and I really enjoyed. She is the type of waitress who delivers to your needs and is very customer focused. If you meet Matyas I the bar you again know you are I safe hands as he’s so attentive and very knowledgeable. We had the pleasure of meeting Matyas, Kara and Danni on our anniversary dinner at the hotel. They really went over and above that night to make sure every little detail was perfect. I cannot fault the service we recieved that night. Actually I can’t fault the service overall throughout our stay. Kata is a wine goddess! Based on my experience of the hotel and the staff I have mentioned and interacted with on such a personal occasion I can sincerely say that they made our trip and were the familiar faces we saw each day. Thank you Fanni for looking after me so much while we were there. To anyone looking to book this hotel. It’s an excellent luxury base to see both sides of Budapest. It’s beautiful on the eye. Beautiful rooms. Respectful and hard working staff and most of all they have a lovely team that I have mentioned that really do have the needs of the customer at heart.

My husband and I stayed at the Corinthia for four nights in December and really enjoyed our stay. The building and interiors are truly magnificent and it was always a pleasure returning to the hotel after a day or evening out in Budapest. We stayed in a Deluxe room which was very comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size with a bathtub and a separate shower. We had access to the Spa which was really great with a beautiful pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. We didn't have any treatments but heard they were excellent. Breakfast was good but not as good as I would have expected in a 5 star hotel. It was mostly self service but the staff seemed very stressed and a bit disorganised although in fairness it was very busy every day. We had dinner in the Atrium restaurant one evening and this was excellent. The food, wine and service were superb and the prices very reasonable. The bar was also very pleasant and the cocktails were great. The staff were in general friendly and helpful. The Concierge in particular gave us helpful information and good advice. The hotel is a little out of the centre of Budapest but it's an easy pleasant 15 minute walk. Transport is very efficient and there's a tram stop just outside the hotel. A suggestion for a small improvement in the bedroom would be to have a hook on the door, or somewhere in the room, to hang coats. It rained quite heavily on one day and we came back to the room with very wet coats and nowhere to hang them so had to drape them over chairs - we obviously didn't want to put them in the wardrobe! The reason I gave the hotel 4 stars rather than 5 is that one morning after I'd had a shower I discovered that no bath towels had been left. I called housekeeping who said they send some up straight away. After 15 minutes they hadn't arrived so I called again, was told they'd be sent but no one came with towels. Fortunately we had hand towels, but these were hardly adequate. Neither of the people I spoke to on the phone apologised and when I mentioned it to someone at Reception they seemed uninterested and didn't even ask for my room number. Despite this we really liked the hotel and would probably stay there again if we visit Budapest

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review Corinthia Budapest after your recent stay. I am glad to hear that you and your husband enjoyed many aspects of your visit, including the grandeur of our building, the comfort of your Deluxe room, the relaxing Royal Spa, and the dining experience at the Atrium restaurant. It is also wonderful to know that our Concierge team made a positive impression with helpful advice and information. We appreciate your constructive suggestions about adding a hook for coats in the room, especially during rainy weather. This is a practical enhancement we will consider to better accommodate our guests’ needs. However, I am truly sorry for the oversight with your towels and the lack of responsiveness and empathy from our team. This falls below the standard of service we aim to provide, and your comments will be addressed with the relevant departments to ensure such situations are handled promptly and with care in the future. I also note your feedback regarding breakfast service. While I am glad you found the offerings good, I apologize for the stress and disorganization you observed and will work on improving the guest experience during busy times. Once again, thank you for your observations. We hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back soon so that we may demonstrate that we stand behind our commitment of providing guests with memorable experiences. A bit of a mixed review, I would love to be able to give 5 stars because it really could be but there were too many things that could have been better. We have just got back from a 3 night stay staying in a suite. On first impression the entrance is beautiful and smells lovely but the staff really let the place down. No one helps to open the door even though there was nearly always two men standing around and there’s two sets of doors so with luggage is very tricky. We were lucky as there was a young boy being trained so he helped carry the cases up the stairs to reception but I saw many people having to do this themselves unless they asked which to me is definitely not what I would expect even from a 2* hotel. The receptionist was very good and gave us all detail on executive lounge etc. Room was quite large but a bit dated and corporate, think 90s dark furniture. Executive lounge was fantastic, free alcohol, soft drinks, canapés, desserts, snacks, sweet table for the kids open 12-10. Breakfast was ok but can imagine it’s quite chaotic when the hotel is busy as they couldn’t keep up with the eggs when we were there and most of buffet was left to get empty, sparkling wine was a great touch though. Now to my main problem housekeeping, first morning knocking on the door at 8am when we were in bed and then just walking in, we had to tell them to leave. Then again that night a knock on the door at 10.30 pm!!! and them trying to come into the room( I have no idea why as we shouted at them to leave). The next day we were out early said hi to the housekeeper who was cleaning the room next door so when we got back at 4.30pm expected the room to have been cleaned but no nothing had been done but someone had definitely been in as a valentine chocolate was left on our unmade bed. We called reception 5 times before anyone answered asking them to come and do the room and have fresh robes as we wanted to use the spa. 45 minutes later they arrived(too late as we were going out later ). We never did get our room cleaned. Then on checkout day which was 12 there was a knock on the door again at 8. Honestly couldn’t believe it, never known anything like it. Would not recommend staying here for this reason, felt like I couldn’t relax and was always expecting someone to walk in. The spa was also disappointing and water quite cold also wouldn’t stay here if you have children as they can’t use the pool after 3

The ground floor lobby of this hotel is beautiful. The rooms may be a little dated but are very comfortable and do not lack any amenities. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The “Caviar & Bull” restaurant is eye-wateringly expensive, if my currency conversion is correct it makes a Japanese steak dish there over £150.
My wife and I spent four nights at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was however, one sour note when we left. I knew that the normal yellow taxi fare to the airport is of the order of 11000 HUF (approx £25) and that there is a taxi rank directly outside the hotel. The helpful bellboy ushered us to a waiting people carrier parked in front of the taxi rank and the driver quickly put our cases in it. I asked the bellboy if this was a licensed taxi and he replied “yes, it will be the same cost as any other taxi”. Against my better judgement, and blaming myself because I had been warned not to take taxis without meters and I could see no evidence of a meter, but trusting the hotel employee I accepted. When we got to the airport we were charged almost 16000 HUF (approx £36). That may have been the “normal price” for an executive transport, but that was not what we needed.
If the hotel management are reading these comments please note that I put the same comment in the survey they sent me immediately after my stay and have had no response.
