Myself and my partner stayed for two nights in November and had a wonderful stay. Having been on the website prior to arriving we were a little dubious as to what it would be like, however the website does not do the hotel justice at all! We arrived mid-morning and were allowed straight in to our room despite being so...

friendly staff. especially "wolfie" at reception. gave us some really useful information on transport, places to go etc. he spoke English well. we didn't use the mini bar in the room, the sauna or the breakfast facilities. We emailed the hotel prior to going and they ordered a taxi to pick us up and return to the airport (approx. £30)....

We stayed in Mediterran for 7 nights, staff was very friendly and efficient while helping me with info or printing out tickets we needed for the event. Room was clean, had a bath tub, a kettle with tea/coffee, shower was nice as well. Some elements would need renovation but function well. A bit of noise from traffic outside but it...

Was a bit worried that the hotel was too far out of the city, but honestly it wasn't at all. It would take about 35 -40 mins to walk to the centre I think, but the busses run very regularly from just around the corner and it takes about 10 mins to get to the centre. There's also a big...

I have come home from a lovely holiday in Budapest this morning and stayed at this hotel, the staff were so friendly and would do anything to make your stay as good as possible. The rooms were fairly basic but for such a cheap price this was expected. I would definitely recommend to people going for a city break who...

Overall the hotel is OK. The staff is friendly and polite. Breakfast is not the best but sufficient. On the downside, the room is small and ragged, although it is clean. There are broken tiles on the bathroom walls and the overall feeling is "Old". Also, avoid the rooms on the fifth floor. The elevator reaches only the forth floor...

We had a short break at the start of the month to visit the Christmas markets. The hotel was bright and clean, the staff very friendly and extremely helpful. We were a little distance from the market but staff advised us which (free) bus to get which was perfect. We also had a 'Hop on Hop off' bus ticket which...

Just an average hotel, I would not say it's 4* property, more like 3* due to condition and amenities. Breakfast costs EUR10 (which is quite high compared to its quality). Personnel is very friendly and helpful! It was noisy by the nights due to busy road near the hotel (even when the windows were closed). But the beds themselves were...

Staying in Gellert Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Gellert Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.
