The Museum Hotel Budapest garners praise for its prime location, deemed central and convenient by guests who appreciate the tranquil setting amidst the bustle of the city. A good value for money, the hotel's spa, sumptuous breakfast, and cozy rooms are popular among travelers, although some have pointed out the rooms' limited storage and lighting issues. While cleanliness and a serene noise level receive commendation, the service quality appears to vary. The hotel's ambiance, marked by tasteful decor, contributes to a warm and inviting environment.

We’ve just returned home after spending 5 days at the Museum Hotel in Budapest. The location is great - walking distance to main sites and restaurants but set back a bit so nice and quiet at night. The hotel and room had a modern interior and were immaculately kept. The room was a little small but had a big, comfortable bed, a good sized bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities and a small, openable window with a lovely view over to Buda. The buffet breakfast was of a good standard and plentiful. Nice little spa area in the basement and the resident masseur, Julian, provides an excellent service at very reasonable prices. Helpful staff at the front desk and had a late checkout (till one pm) at no extra cost. We will be back!

Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Close to Jewish Quarter and one of the best ruin bars.
We enjoyed our stay and found staff to be helpful & friendly. A lot of walking involved however, be prepared. The basement spa area is great to relax after all the walking though.
Reasonably priced drinks in the bar and decent breakfast.
There was a male member of staff (I didn't get his name) who brought our bags to the room and was very helpful in regards to getting about the city. We got a taxi from the hotel one day and he was very helpful in advising us how to get a taxi back, and he said how much to expect to pay as some (not all) taxis take advantage of tourists.

When a company asks for a review it can often be because they are lacking in service, this hotel, I believe are doing it to maintain the high standards they have set. From the initial booking I have had a brilliant time with them, check in was super easy, just 1 form to fill in which was standard and then onto our room. A first floor room, not that I asked for a low floor, I'm quite happy to take any room, very spacious inside, nice walk-in shower, big double bed, plenty of hanging space for clothes, only thing missing was a drawer for underwear, not a big issue as there's plenty of room in the wardrobes. Super high ceilings, kettle and tea making facilties, with stock replenished everyday, if you run out of milk you can get some from the bar. Used the spa facilities, lovely and clean, hotel will provide you with a bathrobe and slippers, just ask at reception, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi all working and perfect temperature in the jacuzzi, they have a great gym, did not use it, as we did so much walking around the city, we didn't need to use the gym. Breakfast is in a nice area, clean, tidy, with a good fare of food on the go, the usual cereals, continental, scrambled eggs, some sort of sausage (never had them as more than likely pork), pancake making machine, various types of tea and coffee plus fruits, we had 2 ask for bananas and they were got straight away, nothing is too much for the staff, they get on with it without fuss. Check out was easy, hand back key cards and that's it, checked out at 11am as we had a meeting but can stay till 12, needed our luggage stored as our flight was not till the evening, they have a locked storage area for bags and the plus is, it's locked. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely use this hotel again. The location is super perfect for reaching the Danube, 10 minute walk, city centre, 10 minute walk. Just a great stay.

This was a great hotel in Budapest . The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was very good. It was only a short walk to the metro, a Tesco and a nearby general store. The hotel facilities were good and it was comfortable. The only thing that the hotel could think to improve on was the layout of the breakfast room. A bigger toaster in a better location would be a good idea to avoid crowding at busy times. But things were generally good.

We booked this through jet2 as a spur of the moment booking. Our expectations were not high given the price, we were pleasantly surprised at the location. Less than a ten minute walk to the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful, organising taxis and answered our questions about the locality. The hotel was lovely, well decorated and had all the facilities we needed. Our room had a free safe and a small fridge to keep water etc. The rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels if needed and beds made, the hotel was quiet, with no outside or inside noise. The only negative we had was that there was no “big light” it was bedside lamps which were fine, but a big light would of been helpful.

We took advantage of the free spa, Turkish bath and sauna on both nights, this was clean and again unexpected given the price.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would stay here again when we return. Budapest is a great city break and we had an amazing visit to this hotel.

Value for money was outstanding!

This hotel is in a quiet location and you are very accessible to the main city and attractions. Locally there is a shop selling Vinyl Records, several quirky cafes, Wine Tasting, Scusi (best focaccia sandwiches). The hotel is super clean, and every staff member is doing their best to give you a great stay. In particular we have to mention Csilla and Peter from the reception team, who were always very friendly and super helpful, and Julien who offers Spa treatments 5.00pm to 10.00pm we heard he is the best masseuse in the city. We tried the 15 minute foot massage and 30 minute relaxation massage. Wonderful! Families, couples, single people all in evidence. Excellent breakfast buffet - cool pancake machine if that's your thing !
The building is an interesting design with a central atrium. We recommend this hotel 100%.

We stayed here for 4 nights for my birthday. The hotel is in a perfect location, just a short walk from the metro station and the Danube.

When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly reception staff, who gave us a swift check in.

Our room was on the ground floor not far from reception and the restaurant. It wasn't the quietest of rooms, you could hear some of the louder residents in the bar during the night. We still managed to sleep ok though.

Breakfast was supplied in the room price. While not a huge selection of food, some which wasn't down to our tastes, vegetables, cold meats, cheeses etc... We still managed to find ample foods to fill us up in the morning before heading out for a day of sightseeing.

When checking out, we waited in the lounge area where we could enjoy complementary coffees while we waited for the car to pick us up. The concierge was very friendly and alerted is quickly when our car arrived and offered to help with out bags.

As we loved our first visit to Budapest, we would definitely consider staying here again, but maybe a room on a higher floor.

A boutique hotel right in the centre of Budapest with walking distance to almost everything. Located in the quiet street behind the main avenue make it quiet in the evening. The staff are friendly and ready to help anytime. Came here on recommendation of my manager and no wonder he choose this hotel every time he visit Budapest. 1 aspect to nitpick, the breakfast room can be a bit crowded as the space is limited and the choice is a bit limited. Of course, there are a few good cafe serving breakfast within walking distance. For the price I paid, so far it is the best valued hotel I had stayed in Budapest.

Our stay has been brilliant from start to finish. The staff are attentive, the food is lovely and the decor is up to date and modern. It’s in a very good location also, not directly on the high street (so noise is minimal) but close enough to not have to walk miles after a couple of drinks!

Would recommend.

Hi Sarah - The hotel has has a coffee/tea maker, but otherwise not a kettle you can heat on. The hotel's staff was very accommodating, but I doubt they'd exchange sterling for Forints. My suggestion is to largely use a credit card that doesn't charge a foreign-exchange fee and to obtain some of their local currency before leaving from your local bank. I was there a few days and had about 100 pounds in Forints and it worked out perfectly. The hotel has a dynamite breakfast and the gym is pretty decent. It's a good hotel and you'll have a great time. As a suggestion, I took a day tour through Viator... and was the only person - it was great; I'd recommend it. Hope this helps!
