The Four Seasons is a wonderful hotel. The location is absolutely perfect - right opposite the chain bridge on the Pest side of the Danube. That means it is a short walk across the river to the funicular (which takes you up to the Royal Palace), a very short walk behind the hotel to the basilica, and 10 minutes down...

The Gresham Palace in Budapest more than earns its reputation. I was here three years ago and thought it was great and it still is. The brass is shiny, the flower arrangements in the lobby memorable, the art nouveau architecture restored perfectly and the service is excellent. Part of the reason for this that Lazlo and Andrea M front desk managers...

First the pros - Great location and the hotel is beautiful with its own history. Also loved the little touches like the history info cards handed out each night. Now the negatives. We needed two rooms and I called the hotel from Chicago to discuss this months ago. The person at reservations recommended we take a double twin bed room...

Have just had three nights here, a combination of business and pleasure. Stunningly beautiful historical building facing the Chain Bridge, a perfect location to explore and walk in any direction to dine or shop. We had a room at the top (509) facing the Danube - a balcony with an amazing door and a very comfortable bed. The staff in...

You come to expect being well-cared for when you stay at the Four Seasons, but this was even better than the "typical" experience. The facility itself is gorgeous. Learn its history to enhance the appreciation. From the hardware to the doorways to the room to the exquisite restaurant -even the elevator buttons, no design decision was too small to overlook....

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
