I have stayed at this hotel for one night for a business meeting last week. It has been one of the worst experiences of my life. The company which invited me arranged the meeting at the conference rooms of the hotel and reserved rooms for all of us at the hotel. When I checked in around 9 pm, and went...

Staff:5* Cleanness:5* Breakfast:4* Location:5* Overall feel:5* Stay tuned on this hotel, they have a general refurbishment under way and the new rooms are amazing. I'm quite a rigorous tripadvisor reviewer and this review is my second 5star rating ever. I stayed 3 times in this hotel so far once in the older room(not so bad either) and twice in the...

Been here only for a night. Nice late check-in, very fast. The room was really nice, with large beds and confortable matress. We got one of the newly renovated rooms. The breakfast was OK, with a nice variety. Locationwise, the hotel is located in Center, perfect for a night walk on the banks of Danube. Overall, I enjoyed our stay...

As i write this review we are just about to check out and it's hard to really know where to begin with this. There's good, and there's bad! The good - it's centrally located, stones throw from the Danube and on the popular Vaci utca. There are renovations going on at the hotel at the moment and this could excuse...

We stayed here for 2 nights and found that the accommodation was in line with a standard 3 star room and the price paid reflected hotel standard. Rooms are not that big but if, like us, you just want a central base to sleep in it is warm, clean and dry with a decent bathroom. Rooms have tea and coffee,...

We were allocated rooms on the 7th floor. They are newly refurbished and were clean with a massive, comfortable bed, plenty of lovely large soft pillows and crisp bed linen. The bathroom is tiny and it's not possible for someone to be drying their hair with the fixed dryer provided and someone else to get out of the shower. It's...

We booked two rooms for 3 nights for ourselves and our daughter. On arrival, we were assigned 2 rooms on the 4th floor which were discracefully dirty with filthy carpets and cleary unfit for habitation. We complained to the front desk that these were not what we saw on the website, and were offered 2 alternative (so called privilege rooms)...

I spent just one night at Mercure Budapest for a special occasion (my friend's birthday), and my choice was well rewarded. On arrival we found a welcome card and a bottle of Prosecco in the room (which was upgraded by the way). The hotel has a very convenient location, right in the city center of the modern area of the...

Spent 3 nights here. Room was a lovely size, very clean with all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was included in our package and was also very good. Good value for money. The hotel location is perfect in Pest on Vaci Utca so ideal for pretty much anywhere and in the hub of restaurants and shops. The Italian restaurant next...

The hotel is located in the important locality of vaci utca and hence it is good idea to select the hotel. Rooms are average, staff is hospitable but has to be reminded of what you need. Bathroom is too small. People on business trips should find this hotel good place to stay. Breakfast served is almost the same though good.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
