I stayed in this hotel for a big company meeting. Nicely located at the Danube river, with an excellent view of the national gallery museum across the river. What I liked about this hotel is that the service was impeccable: everything worked and happened without me being aware of it, and without overly accentuating. The room was nice, clean, good...

I stayed in Intercontinental Budapest October 2016...The only good thing was the great location and view. It is close to the beautiful bridges and in front of it the big palace . Otherwise nothing was impressive . The buffet contained the same food for 3 consecutive days ! The room was old and needs renewal . The staff wasn't friendly...

The welcome at the airport is where the experiences started. The hotel arranged driver welcoming me and keeping me informed of journey times. Hotel welcome by name and recognition of my rewards status was exemplary. The room given to me over looked the river, and all i could have wished for at this stage would have been for better weather...

I stayed here for a Saturday evening for a weekend getaway in Budapest. On a good note, the hotel is in a great location with great views. We booked a superior room with river views and the view could not be beat. We had a fantastic view of the chain bridge and Buda side of the city. It was also...

This hotel has a wonderful location- I think it's better than it's neighboring, more expensive Four Seasons and Sofitel. This hotel actually blocks much of the Sofitel's view and the Four Seasons views are right at the mouth of the chain bridge- so I think the views from the this hotel are actually better. The rooms were spacious and there...

What can i say I'm sold on the brand: affordable luxury. In any city, an Intercontinental with club lounge is a refuge. Budapest the same, great location, great staff in the club lounge including Martin and Barbera, and excellent local specialties from Egr wines, Palinka, to the pastries and local sausages and cheeses

Many spoke already about the location and the view over the Danube toward Buda and the Hill. Let me just add that paying for the view is really worth it. In terms of location, so much can done on foot and minimal trips by tram, it is a real pleasure. The service provided by everyone in the hotel is fantastic,...

Excellent location, we were able to walk to most places (even in snow!) The staff are you would expect them to be at any InterCon around the world, professional and very helpful. We were guided to a really nice Italian place for dinner.

Right on the river between Buda and Pest with spectacular views. Easy walking distance to the sights and shops. Yes, rooms are perhaps smaller however, we didn't spend much time in our room. Excellent breakfast and good bar area. We were part of an Insight Tour and this was one of their better choices in hotels.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
