I stayed for 3 nights as a solo traveller. The hotel is located just off of Vaci Street. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel slightly dated, however my room was clean and tidy. If you are looking for a great location which is central to everything and within easy walking distance of the Danbue and Chain Bridge, this...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The best thing about this hotel is it is in a quiet pedestrian street and really central to the inner city. Just a short walk to the main squares, bridges and shopping streets. Reception are really helpful and speak English. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable ( and very warm ). They do not...

An older hotel with slightly dated rooms. However, the location and value are spot on... it's 5 minutes walk from the Danube, right next to a metro and only a few minutes from the main hub of the Pest side. Perfect for a city break when you're never in the hotel and would rather spend money on other things. Breakfast...

Old Pest town location was great for walking to many shops, restaurants, and historic places. But bringing a car is not recommended, as even with GPS took nearly an hour to get close enough to hotel (on pedestrian only street) due to street construction to unload our bags, then park in a garage a kilometer away. Hotel was reasonably clean,...

Old hotel, no elevator, we had to carry our luggage on foot (In fact, it was very difficult). No kettle in the rooms. We had some trouble in our showers, the water stranded and then flooded, it was a mess. When we complained the reception, they told us there is nothing they can do, the only choice was to switch...

Stayed for three nights Friday until Monday. The hotel is basic although it is clean and the breakfast is good with a range of cereal, pastries, toast, yogurts etc. Staff were generally friendly, however we were denied additional towels as ours were wet. The room was a good size and the bathroom was clean with a good shower. The location...

This hotel is in an excellent location right in the centre of Budapest, if you're a heavy sleeper and just want to get your head down and have a shower and not spend too much then this hotel will be ok for you. The hotel smells strongly of fried food right around the day. Got into the hotel room, the...

The accommodation is adequate but without frills. No lift, so it's a bit of a climb up to the bedrooms. No tea/coffee making facilities in room and only one chair in a two-bedded room. Heating and air conditioning and shower and bed were good quality, however, Breakfast was OK. Pilvax made a good base for our stay. Recommended for travellers who...

A big old fashioned hotel room, just the way I like them. The en suite could do with an upgrade. The receptionists were very helpful. The hotel was 5 minutes away from the main shopping street and easy walking distance to the Danube. It's not suitable for people who can't use stairs as they don't have a lift.

There was no elevator so we were obliged to lift and carrt our bulky luggage up and down stairs! :( We had a triple room, it was small and not very clean: the curtains are dirty for example, No good lighting in the rooms. Although it was a triple room but they accomodate it for 2 persons. Even The breakfast...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
