The location is great, right in the heart of Pest, next to lots of bars and restaurants and only a 15 minute walk to the Chain Bridge. The staff were amazing, very friendly and really showed a genuine interest in everybody who stayed. The room was quite run down, there were broken drawers, plain and old decor and there were...

I stayed at this hostel before and after attending a festival in Budapest. The staff were lovely both times. Breakfast is very basic but it was £8 a night. The building is old but beautiful; one thing to bear in mind is it is inhabited by other tenants so you have to be quiet out of the rooms after ten....

It is a small hostel, very close to metro station and near all main landmarks in Budapest. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are very basic, but with good and clean beds. But.. on the 4th floor and no lift, so you need be in good shape :) And, for me, the biggest issue is that on summer the...

One of the greatest advantages of this hostel is a location - it's very close to Oktagon metro station and a walking distance from main attractions of Peszt. During our stay we rented "an apartment", which is a single bedroom with open kitchen and small bathroom The apartment is in other building than the rest of the hostel so if...

My stay at the Caterina Hostel was ok. It didn't start very positively because you have to climb to the 4th floor without any lift. It can be very tiring if you have heavy lugagge or breathing problems like me. The building is old and dirty but the inside the hostel it is fine and clean. Apparently, other people live...

We arrived at the hostel in the middle of the night, so the lady came out to unlock the gate to let us in. She immediately seemed openly reluctant to let us in, and hesitant, which made us slightly wary, despite our friendly gestures and willingness to comply. Despite this, we handed our passports in on firm demand and went...

Right in the center of Budapest (metro Oktogon), the staff is very nice and helpful in many ways, speaking English very well and eager to help the visitors to learn how to handle the Budapest experience. They got several rooms, either in the same building as the reception or in another a few blocks away. We tried two of them,...

The lady that runs this hostel is lovely and was always very happy, friendly and willing to have a chat or help us out; unfortunately, she was the best bit of the experience! The hostel is up three flights of stairs and there isn't a lift. Our room was double with an ensuite but the walls were paper-thin and we...
