We stayed for nights and the hotel is in a good, quiet location at the end of the chain bridge in old Budapest. It is close to public transport with the hop on, hop off bus about 3 minutes walk. The room was comfortable and the bed was also comfortable and had an ensuite. Slept really well with no noise....

We stayed here three nights after a completion of a river cruise on the Danube. The location by the beautiful chain bridge was not only easy to walk to but located on the Buda side of the city which is much quieter. When we arrived our room was not ready and the clerk had the maid clean it right away...

Just stayed at this place and my daughter woke up this morning covered from head to toe in bed bug bites. Please beware! I have some bites around my ankles but they are minor compared to my 15 yr old. We stayed in room 309 so PLEASE be warned!! Will post pics of her!

Dear Bbjlan, We were very surprided from your letter , because since the opening of the hotel we have never had any problems about bed bugs bites. Our housekeeping staff immediately checked the room and we called an insecticide specialist as well to inspect the room, the beds again , but neither our staff nor the insecticide did not find...

I stayed for 4 nights, in with a city break package deal, so got a good rate for the hotel. Even so I would rate the Carlton as a good base for exploring Budapest, especially if you like to be away from the city noise and bustle at night. Rooms are small to medium sized but comfortable and clean. En...

Fantastic location on the old side of Budapest. Very short walk to the tourist bus stops and restaurants. Breakfast was the best I've had in any hotel. Rooms were comfortable and the hotel was nice and comfortable.

Hotel was clean and situated up the side was quiet. 6th & 7th floor rooms at the back of the hotel have a view of Parliament, great when lit up! avoid rooms close to the lift, generally those ending 01-03 & 11-13, can be a bit noisy. Size rooms no problem if you are out most of the day. Breakfast...

The hotel has a perfect location, near the chain bridge close to the Denude. You can easily reach both, tourist locations and business destinations. However, there is nothing else they could be proud of. Firstly, the personnel looks very arrogant, unsatisfied, unpleasant. The rooms are very small, bathroom is very small too. Secondly, breakfast is terrible. Low quality food is...

Booked this hotel at the last minute through Easyjet holidays. It is one street back from the Chain Bridge in a quiet little street on the Buda side of the river. It was perfectly situated, just a few minutes walk away from the river and the sites. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The breakfast choice was good, however,...

My husband & IO stayed here for a week in June 2012. The hotel arranged a taxi transfer for us which was excellent and took us right to the door. The hotel is on the Buda side of the city but just a short walk (5 minutes) from Chain Bridge. The rooms are adequate size with mini bar and safe....

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
