This is an absolute gem of a hotel at one of the best locations you can hope for in Budapest. Being a Marriott Elite Gold member, we were upgraded to an executive room with access to the executive lounge. The room was large with comfortable beds & had all in-room amenities expected from a five-star establishment. The views both from...

Lovely hotel in a stunning location. However the hotel bloked a large amount of money from my debit card three days after i checked out and left Hungary. The money for the room was taken in full when i checked in and we settled the mini bar bill when we checked out. More money (my next full wage) was blocked...

We chose the Budapest Marriott, over more local settings, because of its location right at the Danube River. All of the rooms have a river view and ours, on a higher floor, gave us wonderful views not only of the river but also of Castle Hill (on the Buda side). The lobby area, including the lounge and restaurant, were very...

The rooms are not that big. But it's clean. The bed can be better, a little too soft, springs seem to be broken. The lighting in the room is good. The location is excellent, right by the center of things. Bathroom is clean as well

Rooms ok. Stayed, on coming here, in lesser hotels in Prague and Vienna and they all provided much more. The following are missing at this hotel. No face to face customer care: no bath robe: no slippers: no proper tea spoon for tea/ coffee in the room. Twice have ordered fresh milk in the room for the tea and twice...

We were only here for two nights so were surprised at the quality of our room. Yes it was a decent walk once you got out of the lifts (my preference is away from lifts so OK by me) but not too bad. The room was spotlessly clean, (excellent job housekeeping staff) large and well appointed with a comfy chair,...

The Marriott is in a good location for both the Danube, shops and restaurants. Our room looked out over the Danube. Good size room and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. The internet is confusing as it advised a charge when logging in however lucky was asked because in the end it was free. Not sure if that is the case...

We stayed here after a cruise from Amsterdam. Functional and well serviced as you would expect. Breakfast was good as was the service in the outside bar area. A good location just off the main pedestrian shopping area close to markets and other sites. Situated on the river on the Pest side, the views were lovely.

We stayed at the hotel one night after arriving in Budapest from our river cruise. The hotel was in a great location overlooking the Danube on the Buda side of the city. All rooms overlook the Danube. I booked the hotel through points, so I can not really comment on the price. The staff was very helpful and acknowledged our...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
