This was our first trip to Budapest and we stayed here three nights. The location was great; we could walk to lots of restaurants, cafes, and sites, plus convenient to public transportation. Andras and his staff were very welcoming and helpful, arranging rides from the train station and to the airport, loaning towels and selling vouchers to the baths, making... More

If and whe we go back to Budapest, this would be our first choice. Not only did Andeas, the owner arrange a cab to pick us up at the airport, the manager came out and took our luggage up stairs. Great location next to a good restaurant and the metro and Danube, but Budapest is definitely a walking city so... More

We arrived after a long drive only to find out that apparently what we thought we received as a confirmation for our stay didn't guarantee our room. After waiting outside for a long time while ringing the doorbell, we were told that we had been emailed (we weren't) advising that we needed to provide credit card details (there was no... More

This was our first stay at a B&B but whether it was beginners luck or otherwise, we were spot on with this excellent choice. Andras` initial welcome email was chock full of useful info from reserving a taxi to the best cambios to convert euros. Best of all its location is excellent. On arrival we were given an overview of... More

The Butterfly Home has big, clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff. It's also in a great location. The downsides of the Butterfly Home are that the lobby is small and shabby with no real seating area and a faint odor; the breakfast offerings are unimpressive; the WIFI is spotty; and the room amenities seem a little cheap (frayed towels, a... I booked this hotel on line after reading about it in Rick Steve's. I followed up to ask if they had hair dryers in the room a couple of weeks later. They responded, "Thank you for your email and booking." We arrived on an overnight train this morning and called to get help with a taxi. The owner informed me... More

We chose this B&B for its location. Our room was large and clean. Staff was fantastic! They shared lots of recommendations based on our interests. SO helpful with transit instructions wen we went on our own and arranging our airport transfers. Great breakfast. I highly recommend Butterfly Home.

Stumbled across this B&B when looking for a hotel to book for a long weekend in Budapest and so glad that we did. Firstly, the location was spot on right in the middle on the pest side of the river. As for the B&B itself, the room was huge, the breakfast a really good kickstart to the day with a... More

Right to the point, I give Butterfly Home a 5-Star/5-Diamond rating. My wife and I stayed five nights (mid-March), which included an unplanned one night extension, so we ended up experiencing two different rooms. What I liked: Location – it’s an easy walk to transit (streetcars and subway), it’s nicely situated for walking access to the attractions, restaurants, and riverfront... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
