We have been in this hostel for several times and we were satisfied. It is good choice for on budget travelling. Only one minus is that you can hear your neighbours but it depends on location of your room. Stuff can speak English. Location of the hostel is really good - close to the Heroes Square.

Well contradictive to all reviews, we did not have such a lovely experience. We basically had room in the basement where wasn't any nice historical features. The place looked like it isn't finished yet- no floor in shared room, holes in ceiling in our room-maybe for lights?Very bad quality was the bathroom-it was moldy. Kitchen was small but ok. This...

Thanks for your comment. Sorry for the inconvenience. We nearly finished this area by now. Hoping that we'll see you again, possibly in another part of the hostel. Have fun and safe trip!

We stayed in Baroque Hostel as a couple, in one of the standard double rooms. Prior to arriving there we had some second thoughts, as some reviews seemed a little harsh. But once we got there, our expectations were exceeded. PROS: - gorgeous building, the interior decorations being in tune with the overall feel of the building (in terms of...

Baroque Hostel has been one of the better hostels I've stayed at. First thing that stuck out was the cleanliness. The staff does an excellent job making sure the place is swept and tidy. There isn't water all over the floor like in many hostels and the rooms don't smell like feet and damp towels like many other hostels. The...

Small room with 5 beds with two little (like 20x40cm) "windows" with view at corridor caused that the only right word to name this room is sauna. Also guy at reception was a disaster, such unhelpful, arrogant and unwilling to solve issue person should not work in that place.

Location was nice, next to a big park and close to the great bath house. The hostel offered a really down-to-earth feel and the staff was very helpful and friendly! Wifi was good and the facilities are working fine! For the budget traveller this is an excellent spot!

Love the whole design and structure of the place, even though it was odd but I found it strangely interesting. Facilities were simple and there was huge space for getting to know the other people in the hostel, like the living room, books, television and x box with a selection of movies to watch too. Location was not directly in...

We stayed in the Baroque Hostel for 3 nights. It's nice and close to Hero's Square (and the corresponding metro station) - but it would be helpful for the hostel to maybe provide some information on how to get there from Kelenfold train station, which I believe many people use when interrailing. The metro stop is Hosnok Tere on the...

The baroque hostel was the best hostel where I've staid. I booked a bed in the dorm room for 10 euro per night. There was everything to get relax and prepeare for city exploring: ready to help administrators, kitchen, sofas, wifi, shower, bath, PS etc. The hostel has very nice interior. To find my room you'll need to pass the...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
