Mike T wrote a review July 2024

I'm writing this on the last of four fabulous nights at this wonderful hotel, situated in the south of the downtown area on the Pest side of the river.

The location is perfect for access to the bustling Jewish quarter, also known as the party district, but far enough away that the evenings are very quiet. It's also only a 30 minute (easy) walk to the funicular railway that leads to the Castle District, an 11 minute walk to the Central Market Hall and surrounded by delightful cafes, wine bars and restaurants.
I've read some reviews mentioning the restoration work being carried out on the building next door but I can assure you that it hasn't caused any inconvenience during our stay. The builders are all done by 4pm each day and if you're hanging around the hotel instead of soaking up the delights of this vibrant city, you've only yourself to blame!

The rooms are air conditioned, spacious and beautifully cared for with very little sign of wear and tear. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the room along with a well stocked mini bar and snack basket. Complimentary bottled water is refreshed each day.
The decor is really stylish and feels expensive. The bed is large, mattress firm (but not too firm) and there's a pillow menu if you're that way inclined. A quality smart TV (you can sign into your own Netflix and Amazon accounts) and Bluetooth speaker is available to keep you entertained while getting ready for a night out. Rooms also have a safe and a "decent" hairdryer (according to the wife) along with good hanging and shelf storage for your holiday finest.

This is a very cool, stylish and quirky hotel.
The use of mood lighting means you'll want to take your sunglasses off before heading for the lifts that only stop on odd numbered floors and there are a few steps, here and there, that could catch you out after a night in the Jewish quarter but this is a major selling factor for me. If you want brightly lit corridors with health & safety levels of accessibility, go book a Premier Inn. You're not cool enough for this place!

By far the best feature of this hotel is the wonderful staff. The ladies at the main desk couldn't be more helpful and friendly. House Keeping is exceptional! Everyday we came back to a room that was perfectly put together and spotlessly cleaned. I carry a daily pill box for BP tablets and came back in the afternoon to find it aligned perfectly parallel to the TV remote by the bed. My OCD did cartwheels with joy!

Breakfast (included) is continental buffet style and very nice all round. Fruit, yogurt, cereals, bread, meats, cheese, wonderful coffee, etc are all there to start your day. When you're in a city that's famed for its brunch cafes though, I'd advise against going mad over breakfast and make sure to leave some room.

This is a fabulous hotel in a wonderful city. It was very reasonably priced and the staff are the icing on the (chimney) cake.

This hotel is fantastic and really made our stay perfect. From the beautiful interiors, welcoming staff, great location and even the amazing scent... we couldn’t recommend this hotel anymore. Due to room availability (prior to booking) we split our stay from a standard room for the first part and transferred to the suite with a balcony. Both rooms were beautiful however the suite really had a wow factor and we would highly recommend to book if available. In terms of breakfast, I would recommend trying all 3 as they vary in style and it all adds to the experience of being in Budapest although Cyrano was our favourite. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful and could help with recommendations. Alex in particular was a pleasure to talk to and we had great chats over a night cap at the bar.
Thank you to all at Hotel Collect, a wonderful experience and would love to return.

1. Beautiful rooms (please see pics). Tastefully decorated and modern. We had a balcony but only used it once due to weather. Did not regret choice of room at all. We even had netflix during a rainy evening. The room also has a Nespresso machine and kettle and daily bottled water as complementary. There is a mini bar and snacks (but they are very very expensive so we didn't use them).

2. Staff. All the staff we encountered were so so friendly and their English was impeccable. Thank you ladies.

3. Breakfast. Complementary continental breakfast included. There are only 4 official tables in the dining area (and 16 rooms in total in the hotel). You ideally need to book a 45 or 60 mins slot the day before. I would recommend you do so as you finish breakfast the day before. I can imagine it may get tight in peak seasons but we had no issues. The food selection was reasonable (although my wife would have liked more fresh fruit - no berries or bananas for example). But what was there was tasty.
4. Location. In Pest and in between 2 Metro stations each only a few minutes walk. We could not have picked a better spot and was nice and quiet overnight.
Overall, you will not regret this hotel as a choice. We stayed Wed to Sat and the room averages out at £115 per night including local taxes (we had an NHS discount via Expedia). You can get bcgeaper hotels obviously in Budapest but this room would have been closer to £200 if not more in other cities.
We had a lovely trip and definitely recommend for couples looking for a short break away.

The first impression was an incredibly nice reception from the receptionist who really did everything to make us feel welcome. And since our room was already ready when we arrived, we got to check in earlier than planned, much appreciated!
As you can see from the pictures here on Booking and on the hotel's website, it is very beautifully designed and at the same time both homely and elegant. We stayed in one of the suites, a fantastically comfortable and spacious room with both a sitting area, recliner and desk in addition to the large comfortable double bed. Housekeeping was very efficient and towels, toiletries, water etc were replenished at all times.
The location of the hotel is very peaceful, but still only a 5-10 minute walk to the absolute center of the city

Although this is an absolutely fantastic high-class and nice hotel, there were a couple of things that, in our opinion, could be improved. The bathroom was very beautiful and nice with a makeup mirror. But because the lighting was weak, the mirror could not be used Tip: install a light spot that can be turned.
The second is the breakfast, which is of high quality but there is not much to choose from. We were aware of that before we left and if we had stayed one night it would have been ok But we, who are breakfast lovers, would have preferred a more sumptuous buffet We realize taste and preferences are different, but for us it had been better with just one sweet cake and croissants and the rest of the pastry replaces with fresh cut fruit and a few additional types of toppings

Hotel Collect is stunningly designed boutique hotel in a great area. All the staff were open, friendly and helpful and our park view room overlooked the trees which was a stunning view to wake up to every morning. My interior design sensibilities were working overtime studying all the details. The location 2 minutes away from an outdoor cafe next to the park was perfect, and it has easy access to Astoria underground station. I loved the fact the comfortable lobby/lounge area doubled up as as the breakfast room and a bar at night which was open 24 hours. Couldn't fault this hotel, apart from perhaps they very dark hallways might be a problem for some. I loved it and made my birthday trip extra special. The handwritten letter and cakes on my birthday was also much appreciated.

Thank you, Hotel Collect, for a lovely stay for our anniversary weekend. This hotel combines modern amenities with beautiful classic interiors. We loved the tall doors, high ceilings and classic mouldings, but it was also very comfortable and luxurious. Great location and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. We would not hesitate to stay again if we come to Budapest.

There is a reason Hotel Collect, Budapest retains its 5 star reviews and at the heart of it is down to the dedicated team of staff that keep this well oiled machine in tip top order. Even before you arrive you will notice the attention to detail in their communications is beyond what you would expect. The welcome was genuine and the glass of complimentary proscessco went down a treat (other non alcoholic options available). The room (with complimentary Netflix) was incredibly spacious, comfortable, clean and as there are only 4 rooms on each floor it was very quiet. We were in room 9, which offers a lovely view of a park opposite the hotel and the rooms are serviced daily to a very high standard. The location of Collect is perfect for visiting all areas of the city and the reception staff will happily make bookings or recommendations for you if you need them to. I choose Hotel Collect to celebrate a special birthday celebration and l would not hesitate to recommend to others looking for a memorable visit to Budapest.

Perfect location. The 100e Express Bus from the airport to the center of town stops about 5 minutes walk from the Hotel. Almost all of the major attractions can be reached by foot in less than 35 minutes....a big plus! Moreover, the hotel is on a side street and therefore the rooms are very quiet. The rooms are not big (we had a standard double room) but are decently sized. The rooms are decorated with good taste, the beds and the feather pillows are very comfortable, with high-quality linens. Everything is super clean. The bathroom had a wonderful "rain" shower. Every morning there is a great breakfast spread (mostly cold items), good coffee (espresso, cappuccino, etc.), fruits, etc. The staff was wonderful! Super polite and always willing to help. Sabine, at the reception, was wonderful and took the time to give us great tips about activities and sites to visit. We spent four nights and are already thinking about coming back.

We chose Hotel Connect for our anniversary city break. From the start of our booking the Hotel sent us helpful messages. We arrived late (10.30pm) but was welcomed with a glass of Prosecco, a quick and easy check in then escorted up to our room to check we were happy with it.
Room was gorgeous, large and spacious with really quirky but beautiful furniture and decor. There was a mini bar and snacks at reasonable price. Also a bottle water provided for free.
Bathroom was also spacious, lovely shower and lots of little touches such as shower gels, slippers, robes, etc.
The bed was amazing - so soft and clean. Room was serviced every day too.
Breakfast was a continental buffet but there was loads and all lovely and fresh. We were greeted by smiley, helpful staff each day who all checked we were ok and if we needed any suggestions for the day. On our first morning Sabine was super helpful and we followed several recommendations such as Gellert baths. On another morning I noticed two members of staff signing to a non verbal guest which I thought was amazing.
We absolutely loved our stay here - it was close to city centre but on a quiet side street near a park. There was bars and restaurants (Ruben around corner recommended) to choose from. All in all just a perfect stay and def a hotel I’d recommend.

A mix of old world charm and contemporary design, Hotel Collect was a revelation. Friendly staff, a welcome drink, and some great recommendations for nearby attractions were complemented by an achingly cool room and a beautiful balcony overlooking the park. One of the best hotel experiences I've had in a while.

To get to the hotel we got the airport bus which makes only a couple of stops but fortunately one of the stops is literally a few hundred yards from the hotel. You get the bus at front of airport and is very reasonabley priced compared to a taxi.

Café Central is a great setting and we ate twice there. The only negative for me was that I like to start the day with a variety of fruits and they didn’t have that. So we bought fruit from Lidl to eat the next day.
