We had an apartment from Central Backpack King Hostel. The lady working at the hostel, Layla, is SO lovely & helpful. The apartment was fine & clean. We had some trouble getting in until we worked out the keypad, but it was very secure, on 5th floor with a lift & just off Vaci Utca. So not far to walk...

I really loved this place. The staff was sooooo helpful and sooooo nice. They give you a free little shot when you arrive and let you know anything you need to know. Really good location, we met some awesome people and had some greattttt food. Its really different from any hostel I've been to. If you're visiting Budapest on a...

When I first got here, I was immediately surprised by this place - it's completely different to your normal hostel, but was still really good. There are probably only 4 bedrooms, but it added to the family environment. This isn't a party hostel, but you are close to everything that it didn't matter. Hopefully, this means you could actually catch...

We visited Budapest during june end this year and picked the hostel based on the positive reviews it had. And I should say we were not disappointed a bit. The place has amazing location, just a few blocks from the St Stephen's basilica, riverfront & the chain bridge are hardly 10-15 minutes walk with enough eating and partying places close...

Loved this hostel, it was really fun and had a lovely atmosphere. It had good wifi, AC and very nice staff. They also helped us organise things during the day and organise things to do in Budapest. Overall fantastic stay

Central Backpack King now possesses a piece of my heart. This place was simply amazing. Wonderful staff, great tenants, and an overall blissful atmosphere. I extended my stay twice. The man and woman who own it are the most attentive, welcoming, and helpful duo ever (as was the rest of the staff). I couldn't have asked for anything more. Not...

I stayed with my boyfriend for 3 nights, and it was really good. We rented the private apart with private bathroom. Was very quiet, clean and nice. Zero complains! The apartment is a few blocks away from where the actual hostel is, probably the reason why is quiet than the rooms on the hostel. Although we stayed at the hostel...

This place is close to a lot of sights around the Danube, the rooms themselves are nothing special but the price is right (and the woman at the front desk gets honourable mention as well). If you're looking for a cheap hostel in a good location I would recommend this spot. It is also close to a lot of restaurants.

Loved it here! Didn't meet too many people here but it really felt like home. The staff was more than helpful and it was one of my favorite hostels I've stayed in. I wasn't travelling during peak season so it wasn't super busy there or overly social, but none the less, it had a great vibe and I would stay...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
