Hotel recently refurbished with friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. The hotel is very close to city center (5 minutes walk) They can arrange a transfer from Airport which is only a few euros more expensive than public transport.

This was a good choice - the reservations staff were very helpful when making the booking and on arrival. The location is very good, being barely 5 minutes walk from the main Preseren Square and the 3 Bridges, yet away from the busy, potentially noisy part of the Old Town across the bridge. We had a bright, airy, clean and...

The hotel is almost at the town centre, and well organized. Also has an underground garage (to be booked in advance, at 18E per night). Rooms are comfortable and large enough, the service is good and quick. The breakfast is very good, but you can also get lunch or dinner at moderate prices.

Firstly, this hotel is very busy, I am here in Mid May, full, mainly tour groups, that could put some people off, breakfast, as you can imagine can be hectic, the staff are superb, cannot praise them enough, tables are cleared immediately and re-set, food trays re-plenished quickly, if you want peace and quiet go early! I have heard complaints...

This is a handsome seven story modern hotel on a quiet street about five minutes walk from the triple bridge at the centre of town. My room was small but perfectly adequate and the facilities were really good - one of the best showers I have had in ages with handy grips to hold on to apart from anything else....

The hotel was fine, newly renovated, but seems very much catered towards big tour groups or conferences. There were massive groups at breakfast each day. So the service is a bit impersonal as are the rooms. There are no toiletries, just a big squeezy tube of soap. The breakfast was ok. The location is good, less than 5 minutes to...

Stayed here for 4 nights in October 2016. Had previously tried to book in the nearby Grand Hotel, as stayed there before. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and have flat screen TV and wifi. Bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom contained a good shower and there was a hairdryer. We were in the fourth floor and there was no...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
City Hotel is located in the very heart of Ljubljana and is an excellent choice for both business guests and tourists to discover the charms of Ljubljana and Slovenia. It has a wonderful view of Ljubljana Castle and the city cathedral, and an ideal location just a stone’s throw from the historic old town. This pleasant hotel among the vibrant city inns, shops, and attractive historical buildings offers local Slovenian and international cuisine as well as a state-of-the-art congress center. The Jože Pučnik international airport is only 25 km from the hotel, and the main railway and bus station is only 400 m away. The hotel is easy to access from all of the city’s major roads; once in the city, you simply follow the blue hotel signs. Ljubljana’s City Hotel is the successor to the venerable Štrukelj Hotel, which opened in 1907. The current hotel excels in its friendly staff, the warmth of its rooms, and a broad range of services found at an excellent location in the very city center. City Hotel has 201 rooms, three luxury suites, an underground garage, a conference center with four meeting rooms, a library, a terrace, an Internet corner, a restaurant, and a bar. City Hotel’s complete makeover concluded with its opening in September 2007. The “basic” and “standard” rooms were renovated, and the “superior” rooms were moved to a completely new part of the hotel. All of the rooms use a card-locking system and all of them have free Internet access. ... more   less
