To start, we LOVE LOVE LOVED Ljubljana and Slovenia!!! By far the best destination on our 6 week, 9 country, 20 city trip! Definitely recommend 100%! The hostel was okay, staff helpful and nice. The room was clean, aircon good, beds comfy and the room/cell situation was really interesting. Showers and toilets always free but because the windows were open all the time in the bathroom there were loads of tiny dead flies which was annoying. Breakfast was good, nothing crazy but lots of options. Location was close to the station and a little walk from the centre. We had a good stay, apart from the terrible terrible band they had playing one night. Bar that, it was a good place to stay whilst exploring this amazing place.
One of the best hostels I've ever been to! It had friendly staff, check in and out were easy, it was cheap, breakfast was included (and there was a huge variety of foods from eggs to toast and cereals, coffee and juice), it has good common areas and a fully equipped kitchen (albeit a bit small), a bar, and is in a great location - maximum 10-minute walk from the train/bus station and 10 15 minutes from the centre of town. They also provided towels and large lockers in the dorm rooms and had lamps and plug sockets for each bed. 100% recommend!!
The hostel is near a train station and just almost 10 min walk from the center of Ljubliana. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were a bit small but very clean. The wi-fi was very good. The breakfast was okay. The only problem is that the hostel is in a not friendly neighborhood, other than that it is a good place to stay if you are on a budget in Ljubliana.
This was a really cool hostel. Clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff, free breakfast and a good location, within walking distance from the main railway station and the city centre. What more could you want?
Look no further is you want to enjoy the funkiest hostel you will ever see. A renovated former prison, this beautiful spot is a dream come true. From the extremely helpful staff at check-in who helped us find vegan options, to the various relaxation spots around the property, everything was delightful. We rented a 4 bed room, and found the room clean and bright with comfortable beds. The 3 bed rooms are made in old jail cells and the shared bathrooms were extremely clean (we were nosey and peeked in). The location is a short walk to downtown and near the arts district. Highly recommend this little gem. Next time we will stay longer and enjoy the barbecue.
Ive been there for 2 nights with a friend, we made a reservation in a 12 beds dorm but because of covid we got a 4 beds room for the same price. I was just so amazed about the hostel: free parking, free breakfast with a big buffet (which is not as usual in a hostel), cozy rooms and an old cell in the basemant to visit. The location was perfect: very close to the city centre (10 mins walking), located in a very cool neighborhood full of colorful graffitis and pubs (closed due to covid) and very good vibes. Receptionists and the guys working at the bar were also very cool!! 100000% recommended!
We stayed five nights in the hostel in one of the family rooms on the 2nd floor with our own bathroom. The room was tiny (as the cells on the first floor) but sufficient for us. The room was cleaned every day which we have not experienced in hostels so far. Also the other facilities were very clean and modern. The staff was very kind and helpful! It takes you a ten minute walk to reach the city center of Ljubljana. The hostel is next to the Metelkova AKC so you hear music at night (on the weekend), but that's the trade-off for the interesting surrounding. The central train and bus station is five minutes away. Enough parking lots are available in front of the building. The other guests ranging from typical backpackers to families with small children. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend the hostel. …
Hostel Celica is a former prison converted to a hostel. The rooms are former prison cells and each room has a different layout and decor. The staff here is extremely friendly and cooperative. My husband and I reached the hostel at 4:00 am as we had traveled from Vienna by bus, and our check-in time was 2:00 pm. While giving us a room so much earlier than the check-in time was not possible, the staff gave us pillows and blankets and advised us to sleep in their game room, which consisted of two cots. They said that they would make sure we were not disturbed and could rest there as long as we wanted. The room that we got was very pretty. My only complaint was that we had to climb a big ladder as our beds were on an elevated platform, which made going to the washroom every time extremely inconvenient. The cleanliness of the hostel was superb. The day we stayed in Celica was the day Game of Thrones series finale was to be premiered. The hostel played re-runs of all the episodes from season 8 before the premiere and held a big screening for the same. We joined other fellow travelers and ended up watching the episode in the common area. The next day, the receptionist guided us as to what places we should visit and the places we should eat, and was very warm and hospitable. Hostel Celica is one of the best stay experiences I have had on a budget trip(except for climbing the ladder part) and I would definitely stay here should I ever visit Ljubljana again.…
Thanks to the staff we had four unforgettable days in Ljubljana. The hostel is clean, the food perfect. Some rooms have a bathroom, some share a bathroom. Upstairs is the kitchenette. It is also suitable for families with children.
Besides its perfect location (just 5 minutes away from the train station and city centre) this hostel offers great facilities that are pretty hard to beat. You're given free towels and lockers, there's a bar and restaurant downstairs where you can order food and cappuccinos, coffee, etc. in the morning, plus the whole vibe of the place is pretty cool (I was upstairs in the attic so it felt like I was sleeping in a wooden cabin) The beds were super comfy and the bathroom was soo clean and modern-looking. Overall I would definitely stay again - highly recommended!
