My husband booked 4 nights in Francuski hotel for our first stay in Krakow. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and our bags were taken to our room. The room was traditional, as expected and was warm and cosy...a little too warm as it turned out. This was soon rectified by opening the windows but unfortunately due to...

But loved it. It is dated in places but it works in a strange kindof way - there is definitely a foot in the past. the wonderful history about the building - I would definitely stay again. The photos don't really do it justice because the beds all look like are sinking in the middle but they arnt it's the...

This hotel is ideally situated in the centre of the old town. Our room was enormous and ,clean as was the bathroom. The reception staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Breakfast is served til 1100 hrs so very civilised. The choice of food was amazing and freshly cooked. We stayed on the fourth floor where it was very quiet.

This hotel is built in 1912, and looks like it from outside. Inside it is updated to modern standards. Bathroom had fittings in "gold", looking very old, but functioning. Red is hot, blue is cold, and you can adjust the water temperature individually, like it was 50 years ago. Not like some modern taps. Lift was up to date as...

Beautiful elegant hotel on the edge of the old town, 5 mins from main square. Very nice suite style rooms with comfortable bed and deep bath. Good buffet breakfast and very attentive staff. A perfect representation in a fascinating city. Well worth staying.

I visited with group of friends in October 2016. Great location, just inside in a beautiful street in old city. Can't be better. Classic hotel, decorations, furnitures, I like it. Great breakfast and stuff attitude, as 4 star hotel. And rate was 2 nights about 150$. Book it, don't think twice, 100% enjoyable vacation. Moshe

We had a lovely surprise on arrival to find that we had been upgraded to a suite with our own balcony. The layout was quirky and tastefully decorated in old style charm. The bed was really comfortable and having bathrobes in the room was also very handy. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was plentiful with lots of...

I adored staying here for a short mini break. The hotel is perfectly located - 3 mins walk from krakow's main station just within the old, beautiful, atmospheric walls. You can go anywhere by foot from here and it really feels like you are jumping into the past. The hotel was built in 1912 and you don't get the impression...

We stayed here in during a recent trip to Krakow. This is a magnificent hotel. The exterior does not prepare you for the beautiful entrance, reception area. Sweeping staircases rise four flights. Apart from utilising the elevator with our luggage we used the stairs everytime we went to and from our room. We had a room that included a sitting...

Firstly I think tripadvisor needs a good rating, which is probably what I would have given this. The location is excellent, at the top of the square, easy to walk to the train station ( we got the train from the airport then walked to the hotel for 8 Zloty each), easy walk to the castle etc. The rooms were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
French hotel is located in historic centre of Krakow, opposite The Princes Czartoryski Museum, few meters from the old city walls and the Barbakan. Within easy reach there are many galleries, jewelry stores and during tourist season - also a bazaar with works of art, presented by the old defensive wall. Whole French Hotel is filled with old elegance what is already evident upon entering the lobby and impressive staircase with columns. It is the oldest building in Krakow erected immediately as a hotel - was opened in 1912. Interior is influenced by the popular at that time an art deco style. The rooms and suites are decorated with wallpapers, pictures, and graphics showing former Krakow, as well as solid, stylized furniture. The bathrooms are comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. Some suites may be combined, by which the hotel is recognised among traveling families. Listening to a clock beating in the lobby or sipping tea in a cafe, you can travel in imagination hundred years to the past. The building is famous for almost a hundred years of its restaurant serving delicious Polish cuisine. ... more   less
