The hotel we stayed in was really old purportedly the second oldest hotel in Kraków, built in 1918 for the Olympics in 1924 where they first participated, if you like oldy worldly you will enjoy your stay there, the staff were excellent and the breakfast variety would match any 5 star hotel. The hotel is well positioned just a short...

What a fantastic Hotel from start to finish.. The hotel is situated within easy access of the town and all its treasures. The staff are extremely helpful, polite and offer vital advice with regards to good restaurants and places to visit. I really enjoyed my stay and would certainly recommend this Hotel.

On arrival you are greeted by a traditional door man who are all lovely and give the hotel a lovely feel of old time luxury. The rooms are big with high ceiling and en-suite with baths and gold taps which again adds feeling of tradition. Each room is decorated slightly differently which give it a bit more of a charm!...

Loved the hotel, full of character, large room, beautiful on-suit. The staff were excellent, helpful, polite and attentive. it was an eight minute walk from the railway station, which has a direct link to the airport and was a two minute walk to the main square. we will visit krakow again and we will definitely stay at the Francuski.

Somehow this lovely hotel has managed to look old-fashioned without in any way sacrificing modern comforts - even down to a doorman! Everything was clean and well cared for, the room was a good size, with a bathroom having a bath and shower over. The staff were all friendly, and the breakfast was amazing for a small hotel - or...

We wanted to try something different this time an found this old style classic hotel. It brings you right back in time to 1940 or something. Old Heavy furnitures, large wide stairs and fantastic service. Wide selection of breakfast both on buffet and hot menu. If you would like something untrendy but warm, visit this place.

Really good hotel with lots of character, staff were courteous and friendly and helped us book trips such as auschwitz and the salt mines (both very reasonably priced). Just a short 5 minute walk from the square where there are hundreds of bars and restaurants and plenty of cultural sites such as the castle and basilica

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
French hotel is located in historic centre of Krakow, opposite The Princes Czartoryski Museum, few meters from the old city walls and the Barbakan. Within easy reach there are many galleries, jewelry stores and during tourist season - also a bazaar with works of art, presented by the old defensive wall. Whole French Hotel is filled with old elegance what is already evident upon entering the lobby and impressive staircase with columns. It is the oldest building in Krakow erected immediately as a hotel - was opened in 1912. Interior is influenced by the popular at that time an art deco style. The rooms and suites are decorated with wallpapers, pictures, and graphics showing former Krakow, as well as solid, stylized furniture. The bathrooms are comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. Some suites may be combined, by which the hotel is recognised among traveling families. Listening to a clock beating in the lobby or sipping tea in a cafe, you can travel in imagination hundred years to the past. The building is famous for almost a hundred years of its restaurant serving delicious Polish cuisine. ... more   less
