Avoid. Its that simple. Modern decorated rooms but no air conditioning. You cant have the windows open as it's city centre and all the drunk youngsters go passed all night. No soundproofing means you hear every door bang, every time someone goes the toilet and all the noise from a busy cafe. We came for medical treatment and needed a good rest before and after. It did not happen. The night before was outside noise all night. Street cleaner at 5am that vibrated through the room. Next day we needed a sleep. Could not happen as the pneumatic drill down the way was vibrating through all the building. I cannot stress how bad the noise is. Kids screaming, loud groups of drunks, cars, lorries, street cleaning vehicle, busy cafe etc etc. I also wasnt prepared for the stairs and with a bad knee, these were a killer. Will never stay here again...…

We were very satysfied with this accomodation. The location is just perfect and close to all places withing the historic center. The room was clean and very cozzy ans bed comfy. Regarding the breakfast I must say that the plates looks very delitious and actually are super tasty ❤ staff is nice and kind and speak good english. The only thing I was disappointed was not working kettle I did ask to replace it but at the end it wasnt done. Long story short - More places like this one, i will definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy Brno.

We travel a lot internationally, but in over 30 years we have NEVER experienced what we experienced in this Bed and Breakfast in impudence and rip-off. We were stuck in a traffic jam. At 5 pm we called the owner, apologized and said that we would make it between 9pm and 10pm. Then the owner said, for the late check in after 7 pm he would charge us 15 Euro PER HOUR! That would have been on arrival time 10 pm 45 Euro, more than half the half price of the hotel. After some back and forth and complaints on our part (it should be noted that the owner in my opinion has a big problem when women complain, in the end he spoke only to my partner) he wrote per SMS , staff would be here today until 8.30. If we arrive until then we can stay without extra payment. For lack of alternative and because otherwise we would have paid the full prize anyway, we drove like mad and made it at 8.15. The owner was not there, but his equally rude employee - who has been in the café anyway - of course charged us 1 1/2 hours late check in, in total 22 euros. In the hotel room I checked the booking conditions: Under small print (you have to scroll a lot) I read: check in 15 euros flat rate. We had been cheated! The tight grid check in until 10am and check out 2pm to 7pm is a joke for a big city like Brünn anyway, but I would have accepted that but flat and not per hour!! The next morning we waited in the café of the Bed and "Breakfast" for ONE hour for our breakfast, which was still not delivered after an hour. We suspected that we would not be served because of our complaint the day before. When I went to the bar to complain about waiting so long, the employee yelled at me: Get out here at once! Then we left the hotel without breakfast. Room: no elevator, 5 floors. The room smells very musty, windows open on arrival, it was cold. Wake up call is at 6.30 am, with the café stuff making a lot of noise.…

Check in is via the cafe and was seemless. Now we had a business apartment on the fifth floor and what you need to know is that the is NO lift. Now we had no problem climbing the 115 steps up to the apartment, because when we unlocked that door boy was it worth it, YES! So the apartment itself was excellent. Shower bathroom, separate toilet, separate room with wardrobes, kitchen area and bedroom. There is a mini fridge, but as far as self catering accommodations go you should know there is no toaster, no iron or crockery other than some cups and glasses. That said, Brno has so many places to eat at such reasonable prices, other making a coffee, there was necessity for any other facilities. So basically, this place was clean, the towels and bed linen smelt so freshly washed, so delicious 😋 this place is in the centre, good location and the cafe serves a good breakfast too with lovely staff. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back and stay in the same apartment.…

I really enjoy meals and coffee in Placzek restaurant. I wanted to try the hotel as well. Reception is in the cafe. No issue for me. You have to climb up to 5 stocks to reach your room. No issue for me. Exercise is healthy. Rooms are modern, yet cozy. Mine was under the roof, so no noises from the street. Not many dishes in the kitchen, but I don't travel to cook. For me, it was nice accommodation in the very city center with a tasty breakfast in the cafe.

It is good they put a picture of the stairway because you are going to have to climb (and climb in some cases) to get to your room. We stayed in the fifth floor in a business apartment, which might be code for don't use this room if you are a tourist with luggage. It was just doable for us as a reasonably fit couple in our mid-50s. Apartment was clean and neat and very centrally located, but without much noise. However despite what looks like a kitchen in all the photos, there are just alot of mostly empty cupboards. So it was a bit confusing. Breakfast in the cafe 5 floors below was OK.

I stayed at the Placzek in Jan and have tried to contact the Placzek two times to ask them to check the fact that I was charged 2 times. This is the basics of of customer service. I also found the staff to be very unfriendly.

Extremely clean and well presented room. Staff polite and explain everything. There are no lifts just a spiral staircase so not accessible for people requiring ground floor accommodation. Bathroom clean. Agree with previous review that only fruit, herbal or Earl Grey tea was available and no milk. However if you're staying for more than 1 night then I recommend that you go to the supermarket 2 doors down (Billy) and buy some coffe (a whole jar for less then 50p) and milk. Bed and breakfast is a relatively new concept in the Czech Republic and a few tweaks here and there will make this a great place. They are far more good on how they serve tea than coffee. Also if you are allergic or intolerant to dairy then there is an extea charge for soya instead of milk. The breakfast was delicious and the omelette out of this world. The cobble stone streets exentuates noise and if you're not used to that then yes the noise can be annoying however we did have a large floor fan in our room so I'm guessing reviews are read and acted upon. Really lovely place, centrally located.…

The worst night sleep I have had in two weeks of travel. Up 52 spiral stairs, with view of the church across the road. The tall church meant if the 2 windows in the room were open, you never got any breeze, just the smell of pigeon droppings. But the worst was still to come. The street outside is cobble stoned, and loud groups of people walked down the street shouting, riding skateboards, etc and passing cars sounded like they were in the room with you, and this noise continued until about 5am. The next night we kept window shut all night, with no air circulation, place was like an oven. I woke at 2.30am and opened the window to get some fresh air, had a cold shower and returned to bed dripping wet as my only way to cool down. The shower was large, but the hand piece would take less than 10 seconds to slide down and clunk you in the head. Shower was ok for people under 4 feet tall. There were 4 tea bags, NO COFFEE in your room, and no milk. Not happy. Would only suggest staying in winter, or take your own electric fan, milk and coffee. Bed was hard, and pillows and towels were clean, but I don't know what they wash them in as they had an offensive smell about them. Breakfast I had toast, which was cold when it arrived, and the cappuccino was also luke warm. Very hard to get a hot coffee.…

We were a group of five people, staying in three rooms over eight nights. We were all very pleased with the location, cleanliness, space and comfort - and the breakfasts every morning were wonderful. Location in situated close to all city center action, but secluded enough for comfortable sleeping. Access to the main train station/bus stop is quick and easy.
