Old style hotel, very basic, good range of breakfast but didn't make up for the not bothered attitude of staff and lack of anywhere to be when not in the room. No bar or restaurant area as stated, instead they give you a 10% card for the restaurant next door.

The location couldn’t be better. However, the front desk help could be improved (not personable at all!) as well as the AC in the room (did not cool well). The room was very spacious and comfortable (other than AC) with a great bathroom. The breakfast provided was good. Easy walking distance to astronomical clock, maybe 2 minutes if that. I’d stay here again, because it was clean and great location but perhaps not during the summer since AC was an issue. They just kept telling us it was old and that we weren’t allowed to control it with the remote in our room.

We stayed for 2 nights for 2 rooms each .We booked this hotel just 2 nights before check in, due to cancellation on our other hotel booked earlier for twin sharing basis as we wanted to have each room ourselves. What I like about this hotel: 1. Superb location as it is located in the old town 2. Buffet breakfast is included. . 3. Kettle to boil water provided in the room with free coffee and tea. 4. I could go up to the roof of the building to have better view. 5.Energy saving concept where the light will be turned off automatically after not sensing any movement. 6. There is lift facility. 7. Free wifi service. Disadvantage of this hotel 1. TV and room telephone line not working for my room.Luckily there was wifi service I could use to watch movie on my handphone at night. 2. Pillow for my other twin sharing bed was taken away by the housekeeper on the next day.It should be put on the bed although it has only 1 guest in the twin sharing room as I used the extra pillow on my first night. 3. There is no proper storage room for the luggage for guest check out. 4. No complimentary on drinking bottle water. I may think twice if I want to stay back in the same hotel due not non working television . However, I really like the both ladies front desk service as they are really helpful.

Small, turist class hotel. Very friendly and service minded staff throughout. I had a very quiet room facing the courtyard, clean and tidy. Miniscule fridge (minibar) and TV set, but it is there. I was glad that I brought my own amenities, as fill up was infrequent. Otherwise, both room and service was satisfying. E.g. they procured an iron and board. Excellent! Breakfast buffet is OK, but had to wait quite a bit a couple of mornings in order to have a table. Location is superb, and you get 10% off in the restaurant. Try the duck, if that is your scene.

Just a few meters from the most popular streets and main squares in the old city center lies a quiet little hotel, tucked away in a romantic alley, shielded from the busy crowds and noisy city life. Hotel Dar might not be big, but their service is among the best I have experienced in Prague. The staff was extremely informative, not only when it came to popular events and sights, but also what to avoid, such as tourist traps and scams. They gave us a detailed description of where to get the best beer, the best food and even the best exchange rates. The room was simple, but had everything we needed. The bed was hard for European standards, but having travelled a lot in Asia, it didn't bother me one bit. The pillows were big and soft, and the air quality was good. The breakfast had some very nice variations, and the coffee was freshly brewed. Overall I only have good things to say about this wonderful little hotel, and I will definitely pick it for my future visits to Prague.
