Everything (ABSOLUTLY everything) was perfect during our stay: – wonderful service of reception - I must say that was the most welcoming and attentive people on reception I ever had (and I visited more than 50 countries) - Restaurant staff and food was excellent! Waiters are very professional, helpful and nice. Special thanks to two waiters who had to wait...

I did quite extensive research on various sites before choosing this hotel. It is amazing how many hotels there are which say that they are within 5 minutes walk of Charles Bridge! This one is within about one minute's walk, so it couldn't be better placed for getting into both the old Prague and the castle area. The hotel is...

We stumbled across this humble place to eat and found it outstanding, the service was excellent, very attentive people who took pride in their jobs. The food was very high standard, we both had the French onion soup followed by the goats cheese salad and the Caesar salad for mains which were both to die for. It's a pity I...

We each had a leg of lamb dinner here and it definitely was the best lamb dinner we've ever experienced anywhere. The soups were excellent and with a bottle of wine the tab was only $55 USD. I would not miss this gem. We did not stay at the hotel.

My four-night visit started off well with a very friendly greeting from the girl at the front desk upon my arrival from the airport. This place has character, charm, a historic feel, & a perfect location for walking around. The attached restaurant served delicious food. Did not realize until the last morning that I could actually customize my breakfast order...

this property has great location, but i would stay elsewhere next time. room not cleaned properly for 2 days, and towels in bathroom old with holes. this "hotel" is overpriced for what you get and best to look elsewhere as the public transport system is great in Prague. Breakfast was average in the Black Eagle but there are a lot...

The hotel's location could not be bettered: approximately 100 metres from Charles Bridge and within walking distance of bars, restaurants and many of the sights. The hotel is characterful and comfortable, as well as representing excellent value for money. We had a room on the third floor, which, as other guests have pointed out, means climbing stairs (as there is...

We have just returned from a trip to Eastern Europe and once again visited Prague for a two night stay. Visited the restaurant 'The Black Eagle' on both evenings after sampling this fantastic eatery in January 2015. The whole experience again was wonderful; friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere and superb food at very reasonable prices! The chef is excellent - we...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
