Well, first the short version: if you travel to a city where there is a Mandarin Oriental hotel, book Mandarin Oriental. Simple. Long version: I have a soft spot for Mandarin Oriental, I admit. Why? Because I am a huge fan of beautiful surroundings and design, because I want my hotel to be central, because I’m a bit spoiled and...

Incredible place to stay in Prague! Very quiet area with all top quality amenities and service. Impeccably clean and friendly. Definitely would recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy Prague. Very close to Lennon Wall, Charles Bridge, and parks along the Vltava River.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

no pool but highly awarded spa, really worth to try it. Small gym but nice and state of the art, I think you can even have a personal trainer.

Both nice hotels. If price is similar I would choose the Mandarin. Make sure you get breakfast included in room price.

I would confidently recommend this hotel for you--it is in an extremely safe area--away from the major tourist traffic--in a quiet residential area with many of the sights within a 10-15 minute walk--10 minutes to the castle, 5 minutes to the Bridge. There are many eating options near this Hotel and the Hotel is extremely helpful in guiding you to anywhere in the city. You will not regret this Hotel if you choose it. Good luck, enjoy, and please do not hesitate to ask any other questions--I would love to help and share my experience!

I did not dine in the hotel as there are very nice restaurants along the river just 5minutes walk form the hotel. My room was very large but don't know what type it was.
