Lovely small hotel, excellent helpful staff, terrific food, large well-appointed rooms with subtle decor. We spent 3 nights to celebrate New Year and could not have wished for better. The New a Year Ball was exceptional, terrific ambiance in the ex-monastery ballroom all wearing evening dress and everyone so very friendly. A total United Nations of fun! The food stations...

I have to say that so far I have not been disappointed by any Mandarin world over and this one is no exception. The room where I stayed in was fabulous and the staff and concierge were very nice. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from charles bridge but still in a quiet location to give you privacy. The...

Location is excellent. Quiet area in Mala Strana, yet very close to everything. Understated facilities and very comfortable room. Service was excellent - extremely friendly staff, very polite and attentive to your needs/questions/requests.

Starting from quick respond to emails. Welcoming airport pickup service, to checking in with a lovely lady that she took us through the beautiful historic building on the way to our room. The staff were all top which reminded me why I love Manderine so much.

We hosted a small event in Prague in October 2016. Have been meaning to write this review ever since! Having had an amazing time at the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok, we were keen to stay at the MO in Prague for our visit over Christmas. This was a good choice: the car at the airport to take us swiftly to the hotel, the personal welcome, the check-in procedures in the room (no hanging about in the lobby) were a...

We had 6 wonderful nights over the Christmas period at the Hotel. The staff are friendly and attentive but not overbearing and while not a cheap option the Hotel was good value for money given the quality of amenities and service. We would most definitely stay there again and have no problem recommending it.

Could this be the least impressive MO in the world? Having stayed at many MOs in several countries I would say "yes." The service was fine as expected. the food "ok" but the public areas were low ceilinged, small, and nearly windowless. The sterile lobby became claustrophobic with only 8-10 people in it. The explanation for the weirdly configured bedrooms...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
