This hotel is on the excellent position on a beautiful Kampa island just under the Charles bridge, on the river bank, few minutes to Mala strana, and just a nice walk across the bridge to the wonderful Old Town square. The hotel is very good, the service is great, there are free coffee and tea in the room... My only...

We were in Prague from 7 to 11 December 2011. Hotel is in a very convenient location. 3 minutes walk from Charles Bridge. Small and cozy hotel. The room is very warm, in the shower hot water and strong water pressure. We were on the third floor in room 306. Breakfast simple but very tasty. Value for money is perfectly.

So close to the main heart of the city and yet lovely and quiet. Yes the beds are hard but that didn't bother me. All the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and unhurried. The only bad thing was that there was a fire alarm set off at midnight due to a candle on a Christmas decoration...

situated on the "other side" of the Charles Bridge in the southern part of Mala Strana, less than 2 minutes to the bridge and 4 minutes to the tram stop.Very reasonable tariff for a comfortable and spacious hotel with very helpful, friendly staff, fluent in English. Good continental breakfast served in the restaurant until 10 am. The one point which...

HKG is a fantastic choice for the bargain traveler. It's location is perfect - a stone's throw from the Charles Bridge and other sights, but nestled on Kampa Island where it's very quiet. Staff is helpful in setting up airport transport, and giving directions around the town. Rooms are clean and fairly spacious, shower is classic tiny European with detachable...

Can't beat the location which helped offset the uncomfortable hard bed and hot room. Even though the temps outside were cool and comfortable, the room was so hot and the window wouldn't open. Moved to another room with a window that worked which helped. As for the bed, more like sleeping on a board. Again the location was excellent, felt...

Spent 4 nights at this delightful small hotel. The location alone would be worth any price. At the end of the Charles Bridge on Kampa Island, generally far from the hectic tourist-thronged areas accross the river in the old town area, in a gorgeous setting on Kampa Island by the park. Literally 1 minute from the Charles bridge steps, with...

We really enjoyed our stay at Kampa Garden. The staff was great, very nice and helpful, the location could not have been better. It is located just off of the steps of the Charles bridge and down the street from several restaurants. Even with this easily accessible location, there was never anyone around outside of the property, it was a...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
