Just spent 5days in Prague taking in the winter markets and a birthday and the Hastal was base camp. Always dubious about trying new hotels but when we checked in leaving -5 temperatures outside to be offered hot beverages or a glass of wine by...More

One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the
modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

Yes there is a lift. My wife and I liked the place. We also used their airport pickup which was reasonable and nice. We also liked the near by restaurant -- I think it's "behind" the church (the desk made a reservation for us). All in all we liked the place and would stay there again if we ever return to Prague. We also liked Prague Food Tour. If you like to shoot pistols and/or rifles try Celeritas Shooting Club. It's easy to get to using public transportation. Hope you enjoy your trip.

no it's a no smoking hotel. There are no balconies. The small square outside is very pleasant though and I think there may be a couple of benches outside the church opposite but don't quote me on that.
