The Alchymist was a lovely hotel and great location for our trip to Prague. My husband arranged a round trip car transfer which was fast and convenient. The hotel spa was beautiful and a wonderful experience. The morning breakfast was delicious.

Just so beautiful! Much better than pics can show. Amazing service, beautiful rooms and lovely breakfast. The wine and cheese board at 5pm in the lounge is a lovely touch. The spa is fabulous- but book ahead as they aren't great at finding you a good time. We tried to get a Thai massage but they couldn't do it on...

A magical hotel in a magical city! An absolutely delightful hotel - Charming and thoughtfully appointed with great service staff. Location is superb - Walking distance from all the major attractions including the iconic Charles Bridge that we enjoyed by day and night. The breakfast buffet was perfect including with some ala carte items like the old Bohemian omelette -...

It hotel is one of the most beautifully decorated hotels that I have ever stayed in. The hotel staff were always courteous and helpful and our room was amazing. The hotel was spotlessly clean and is conveniently located. The spa is also worth a visit. I would recommend this hotel to any discerning traveller.

I booked this hotel as a special treat for my wife's fortieth birthday and I am so glad I did. It's a little bit above my normal price range but I went a bit further and it was so worth it! When we checked in they informed us because it was my wife's birthday they upgraded us to a junior...

What a fantastic place to stay, staff amazing, helpful and approachable, food was gorgeous, hotel was clean, lovely interior. We stayed in January, although cold outside, the hotel was warm all the time and welcoming. It's very close to Charles Bridge which is just a 5 minute walk

We had a terrific stay at the Alchymist Hotel in early December to celebrate my birthday. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with lovely furnishings throughout. Upon our arrival, we were met by the outstanding and professional staff. The manager personally met and talked with us about the area and made us feel welcome. It was as if he were welcoming...

What can I say, from the moment I walked in I knew it was special. They checked me in swiftly and I was taken to my room by a polite member of staff. My room was on the top floor. A beautiful room with a large bath. Shortly afterwards I had a swim in the pool which is small but...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
