This hotel was amazing as our base for 4 nights in Prague. From arrival we were welcomed and given a lovely welcome drink of Czech Prosecco. The decor of this hotel is very regal. Our rooms were deluxe and extremely opulent. A kettle, tea, coffee were all complimentary. There was a nightly turn down service, with pralines on the pillow,...

My daughter and I stayed here for a few days and found the hotel stunning, the staff delightful and the breakfast was excellent. So unusual to have great bacon when abroad and good breakfast tea but this delivered on every count. We stayed in a Royal suite which was spacious and very comfortable. Lovely bathroom, extremely comfortable bed with gorgeous...

A beautiful looking hotel, especially in the public areas. A greatly appreciated complimentary welcome drink and stunning chocolates for turn down. Breakfast also good particularly the bohemian omelette. I did find the hotel a little impractical in parts though. They turn off all air conditioning during winter. My room was way too hot but was advised if I wanted it...

Stayed 3 nights in a junior suite at the start of March. The hotel was wonderful, really really beautiful. The restaurant was delicious and the service was phenomenal. I communicated with them a good amount in advance to set up airport transfers and reservations and I always got responses very quickly. The hotel is an old castle from the 1500s...

We loved staying at the Alchymist Grand. A beautiful property, it was filled with delightful and helpful staff in a great location within walking distance of all of old Prague. We could not have asked for more, from the excellent breakfast buffet to the evening wine and cheese in the parlor. From top to bottom, this is a wonderful place...

Stayed three nights at the Alchymist Grand. I've stayed here a number of times and it is always excellent. The staff is extremely professional and anticipates your every need. I always enjoy seeing Ahmed Mustafa's smiling face when I check in. Although I've never had lunch or dinner in the restaurant, the breakfast is great. The buffet options are plentiful...

We booked this hotel to celebrate my husband's 50th, based on its TA reviews and so glad we did. The hotel is amazing in its style, service and comfort. To start with all of the staff can not do enough for you, from when you arrive to when you leave. They will happily give advice on where to eat and...

The Alchymist was a lovely hotel and great location for our trip to Prague. My husband arranged a round trip car transfer which was fast and convenient. The hotel spa was beautiful and a wonderful experience. The morning breakfast was delicious.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
