Our experience at the Alchymist Grand Hotel was excellent. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival and treated wonderfully our entire stay. Great location, easy to walk around the city. Beautiful room, lobby and restaurant. Breakfast is included and at 5 pm they serve wine...More
I stayed at the Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa in the beginning of July and wow what an incredible experience and just an absolutely gorgeous property. The hotel is located in one of Prague's historical palaces dating back to 1591. Photos don't do it justice....More
The rooms were impeccable, the daily afternoon wine and cheese gatherings were always wonderful and the staff were extremely helpful and so polite. I had a small health issue and they were able to find me a solution without me having to leave my accommodation....More
I loved this hotel. Usually the pictures are better than the real thing, but in this case, the real thing was better. Very quaint and roomy rooms in an historic building, right in the heart of Prague's old town. Wonderful breakfast and excellent service -...More

Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch
shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

To be honest I didn't notice any parking. But the other issue to consider is that there is an embassy right next door, and every time we approached the hotel in a car, we had to stop a couple of hundred yards down the road for the car to be security checked. It only takes a minute but can eventually get a little frustrating.
