excellent location right by Old Town Square and yet in a quiet narrow road. A bit quirky but far better than a chain hotel. We were in room 201 which had a seperate lounge and a decent size bathroom . The latter had 2 strange port holes and we could never work out whether anyone could see in as there... More

Can't fault this Hotel of service or location... good looking staff too :) ! Perfect mix for a great stay... historical, refined look and feel but without being stuffy - right in the centre of things but without the usual noise and hassle - perfect. Emailed Concierge before the stay and she couldn't be more helpful - confirmation of booking,... More

My boyfriend booked this hotel at a low rate in January 2007 as an Xmas pressie. Was a bit apprehensive about going but when we got there it was lovely. Because it was so much cheaper in January we were able to book the Royal Suite which had original painted beams, large bathroom although they could have made more use... More

We stayed there for 5 nights with our 10-year old son and had a great time. The room - "everest room" in terms of a web booking agency - was very nice with two rooms, two tv's, kitchenette hidden in a closet and generally with furniture in the style as from my grandmothers time had she been a bit wealthier.... My boyfriend and I spent a wonderful 3 nights here. It was our first trip abroad together so we wanted something special and were not dissapointed. Excellent location (1 minute from the old Town Square) and yet it was still quiet at night. The hotel doesn't look much from the outside ( we nearly walked past it!!) but once inside... More

Some of the reviews on this website of this hotel were not too favourable so I was somewhat worried if I had made the correct choice. However I am pleased to report that it was absolutely perfect for the three nights we stayed in Prague. Had a large suite which had normal hotel cleanliness. The position - two mins from... More

I can't add any more than that already has been said, apart from: this really is the best location in Prague. If you really want to be treated like a human being, a paying guest, an individual and you want to feel that you are the only guest, and somewhere where the staff members can't do enough for you, then... We stayed at the Iron Gate Hotel for 3 nights from 18th Nov and loved it. The suite was huge for the two of us. We walked straight into the bedroom, with a great sized, modern bathroom leading off. Down 5 or 6 stairs from the bedroom into the lounge area with a comfy sofa and chair, table and chairs,... More

We have just returned home from 3 nights staying at the Iron Gate hotel and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, what a great location , we were 2 minutes from the old town square, the hotel is fabulous, being a conversion from a 14th century building, it doesn't look much from outside but inside its lovely, there is a really... Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
