My family of three and I recently stayed for a week and change at the Iron Gate in Prague. Let me say that our overall experience was wonderful. First, I can't imagine a better location in Prague, for my purposes. The hotel is on Michaelska, which is a small road (almost an alley) very close to the Old Town Square....

We wanted a great location in the Old Town with comfort and luxury, but not a big box 5 star. Looking thru travel books, we saw this and then checked on-line. It is ideal. Located very close to the main square, but on a quieter street, around a courtyard with a dining room and good breakfast buffet. The first night...

As part of a large group, we thoroughly enjoyed the Iron Gate. It was friendly, accommodating and clean. The rooms are all different with each their character, needless to say the comfort and space you get is incredible. Location is perfect. We decided to book the iron gate for a reunion, this couldn't have been a better place. Good value...

This is a beautiful, small hotel in a great location. You can walk to many sites, restaurants and shops. The service is gracious and unobtrusive. The rooms are nicely decorated , yet comfortable. I strongly recommend it.

My husband and myself have just returned from a 3 day trip to Prague. The Iron Gate Hotel was marvellous, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel was also very clean and well maintained. The courtyard in the centre of the hotel is a welcome retreat after the crowd's of Prague's many beautiful streets. I can only imagine...

The hotel is perfectly placed on a quiet side road just off the Old Square, the staff were extremely courteous, our room was huge and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. All rooms in the hotel have their own character, ours (316) was a 'Junior Royal Suite' of about 45+sq m including bathroom (500 sq ft...

The hotel can be pricy but if you shop around for the best deals it is well worth the time spent. Positioned in the middle of Prague you need not get taxis or use the tram once you are at the hotel. Perfect location for eating out and site seeing and within 20-30mins walk of all the major sites in...

Location was just perfect. We could go out for a little sightseeing and easily just pop back to our room to pick something up or drop something off. Very convenient. Wonderful staff. Place was spotless. We booked an executive suite and our only complaint was the suite was a little on the small side. We were off the courtyard...very quiet....

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
