A delightful 15thc hotel. We will return again and again! Our room , with painted wood- beamed ceilings, was huge and had a full kitchen. As we drove by car, it was difficult ..but Magda , head of reservations, met us nearby, helped us with our luggage, took care of everything, recommended a great restaurant and was delightful to boot! We were meant to stay at the Retezova in May 2009, but due to an accident I have been unable to travel until now. We had paid 50% and the Retezova had no problem in holding our deposit until we were able to travel again. A huge thank you to The Retezova for doing this for us. I had been...

I'm not really sure how anyone could improve upon the Residence Řetězová. Its location is perfect: extremely close proximity to all of Prague's major sites while situated on an extremely quiet side street. Its physical configuration intriguing and full of flavor: a very old and characterful building which has been thoroughly updated with all modern conveniences. And its staff: polite,...

Hotel-Residence Retezova is in an excellent location in a very quiet street yet within very easy walking distance of the Old Town Square and Charles Bridge. The hotel desk staff were very quick to respond and helpful with all the enquiries I made via email prior to booking. We stayed in two apartments during our stay (as our preferred choice...

I'm coming to the end of a three week stay here. The apartments are spacious, comfortable, and well furnished. The location is ideal - close to Old Town Square and Charles Bridge yet still quiet. The staff, especially the manager Magdalena, are very friendly and very helpful.

I probably spent more time on tripadvisor than on my vacation in Prague but it was well worth it. Residence Retezova which came highly recommended on this site more than lived up it to its rating and clearly exceeded my expectation. I'm also now a firm convert to apartment style accommodation rather than hotels when travelling with young kids. The...

We are a well-travelled family of 5. The hotel was everything stated on website. Charming hotel in the center of the old town. We reserved a 2-bedroom apartment that appeared to work for us. When we arrived, we were given an upgrade at no extra cost because the staff thought that our reservation would not be spacious enough for the...

Great place to stay! More like apartments. Spacious three rooms, bedroom, dining/kitchen, bathroom. Outside patio also available. Very close to Old Town, Charles Bridge, and new town. Great eating places close by. The real value is the friendly and informative staff. Magdalena was simply magnificent and went the extra mile to look up things before she gave us very thorough...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
