We arrived in Prague around 11am and, after checking our booking confirmation which said check-in was at 14, decided to sit at a café and make some time. Headed to the hotel around 13:30 (arrived 13:33) and promptly found out that check-in ENDED at 13:30 and there was no one at the reception (on the 5th floor). Had to call...

First there is no reception in the area which available from 8-10 am only. You do not know where are they unless you realized that you need to look in the whole area, which actually in 5th floor! Nobody in the whole world a reception is in top floor and not ground floor. No phone to call! Where to call...

There is too much to mention!!! But please people just don't be cheap and spend a bit more money to sleep in a cozy hotel! This was too much😩 Can't believe Booking.com actually recommended it tbh.. - no/very bad wifi connection - reception staff only available between 08:15 and 1330, good luck finding anyone after that period of time. -...

It's a very small and simple accomoodation but there you can find everything that you need especially foor this price. The accommodation is in the old town of Prague, so you can reach everything in some minutes and on foot as well. 2 minutes and there is the christmas market, the Powder Tower, supermarkets, shopping center and a little more...

Saying it was bad does not begin to describe this. So. Let's start. Near total lack of reception. I do not understand why there would be no one around after 13:30. They do send instructions on how to use the weird lockbox at the entrance if you arrive late (after 13:30),but the fact that there is no one there does...

Our stay at the Platan started with fighting a box to get the key (they email the box's instructions to you some time before you check in, so if you miss that and don't have international data, you're in trouble). This box also contains other people's keys, so not the safest start to things. Once you get inside, there is...

Upon checking into our room (getting the key from the safe out front because there's no one working there after 13h30), we were almost immediately disgusted by how unclean the room was. The mattress was moldy (like some one had peed on the mattress, then they flipped it over and it molded), the armchair looked very well used (=sweat stains),...

The hotel is not a bad choice for a short stay in Prague mainly due to its great location and low prices during off-season. Room was ok. Shortcomings were: no internet connection, torn towels, non-functional remote controller and wet floor in the washroom. Also, it was quite uncomfortable when we realized that we could open our room with the same...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
